Chapter 33

(The next day around 10)

Josie had a great time with Penelope yesterday and she got home around 6 last night. Lizzie invited Hope and she said she'd be there soon. Everything was ready and Alaric told them they would be leaving around 11:30.

"I'm nervous," Josie said.

"Why?" Lizzie asked her.

"Penelope's going to meet dad today. What if he doesn't like her? What if he tells me to break up with her? I really don't want to break up with her."

"If you like her than he's going to like her. Okay? As much as I hate to admit it, you're good for each other."

"Okay, yeah you're right." The door bell then rang through out the house. Lizzie went to go open the door and saw Hope standing there.

"Hey," She states giving her a hug. When they released each other Hope walked in and set her stuff on the ground.

"Hope," Alaric gives her a hug, "How are you? We haven't talked in a very long time."

"Yeah, I'm amazing, and how are you Dr. Saltzman?"

"I'm feeling much better and call me Alaric. So you and Lizzie?"

"Yeah, I truly believe she's the love of my life. Even though we've only recently got together. I've loved her for years, I just never told her." Lizzie smiles at her girlfriend.

"And I truly believe it too," Lizzie stated still smiling.

"I'm glad that you guys are happy," he stated.

Josie was still upstairs, she didn't know how this was going to go. She knew that she was probably stressing about nothing but, she couldn't help being worried that her dad won't like her girlfriend. Eventually she decided to go down stairs and say hi to Hope.

"Josie, hi," Hope greeted her friend. Josie greeted her back and they had a quick talk about what's going on.

"Penelope said she will be here soon," She told her dad.

"Alright sweetie."

A few minutes later Penelope arrived in her car. She didn't want to come on her motorcycle because she didn't want to
set a bad first impression. She walked up to the door and rang the doorbell.

"Hey babe," Josie greeted her with a kiss.

"Hey, can I come in?"

"Yeah of course." She lead her to the kitchen where her father was. Josie could tell that Penelope was nervous. "Just be yourself," Josie whispered in her ear.

"You must be Penelope," he extends his hand which she takes and shakes its firmly.

"Yes, it is very nice to meet you Dr. Saltzman."

"Since everyone is here should we get going?" He asked. Everyone nodded.

On the way out to the car Lizzie whispered, "I'm the love your life?" This caused Hope to blush slightly.

"Of course you are Lizzie, I can't imagine my life without you in it."

"And I can't imagine a life without you," Hope connected their lips and they quickly remembered that Alaric was standing right in front of them. "I love you."

"I love you too," Hope responded hoping into the car with Lizzie following her.

The car ride to the hiking grounds went fast. Nobody really said anything besides for the whispers that Lizzie and Hope gave each other. Penelope and Josie couldn't really say anything because Josie was in the passengers seat. Alaric was just remaining quiet trying to understand what his blonde daughter was saying to her girlfriend. When they pulled up at the hiking area he stopped.

"Alright we are here," he says getting out of the car and the rested them followed.

"Thank you Dr. Saltzman," Penelope said politely.

"For what?" He asked and for some reason this made her even more nervous and she was rarely nervous.

"For letting me come with you and Josie today," she states.

"Well you're welcome also I wanted to meet my daughters first girlfriend." This caused Josie to blush and Penelope to smirk at her.

"And I am very lucky to have her in my life."

"I'm happy to hear that," he states smiling slightly. The continue to walk to the trail they wanted to go on.

"So I'm your first girlfriend?" She goes back to talk to Josie. She just nods. "Well I am honored," she say intertwining their fingers.

"Well you should be," she giggles at her. Penelope thought it was the cutest thing she had ever heard. She couldn't help but join her.

"What's going on with them?" Lizzie asked looking back at the two.

"They're in love," Alaric states simply. He hasn't seen Josie look this happy for a long time. He realized it was because of this girl that she was with. He was starting  to like this girl. Well he liked how happy she made her daughter.

"How do you know?"

"I used to look like that, I used to remember that feeling. It was with your mom, Lizzie," he states looking down at his wedding ring which he still hasn't taken off.

"They only met each other a few days ago," She stated.

"It doesn't take too long to fall for someone and trust me, Josie has fallen for this girl."
