"Philippians 1:3 — I thank my God upon all my remembrance of you.

My RJ,
10 years ago, in a blurry image, I had a glimpse of you, and 5 years after that—you barge into my life like a madman—out of control, so fast that I didn't even have the chance to shelter myself from the impact you brought into my life—and just like that you change me, you change my life—and I thank HIM for that.

I thank HIM for the easy road we experience from the very beginning—the easy silence we share when the world around us speaks in unison.

I thank HIM for the humps and bumps along the way, because it made me realize that it only takes your hand to be holding mine, and the ride will be all worth it.

I thank HIM for all the tears I've cried, the pain I went through and the thoughts of giving up when we go through our hardest times. It's in those moments that I've proven one thing—My heart will always choose you.

I will always choose you to be the one wiping my tears.

I will always choose you to be there for me when I am in pain—whether it's physical pain or the pain from a broken heart or soul, or both. I only want you and your embrace—that will always be enough—no words ever needed. All I want is for you to ease my pain by holding me close.

I will always choose you to be alongside me—fighting and giving our best to come out victorious in every struggles and hard times we go through.

I choose you then, I am choosing you now, I will be choosing you tomorrow and the next days of our lives together.

I thank HIM for your wounds and scars—it's an opportunity for me to look at those as a reminder that you fought hard just to be where you are now—here with me.

I thank HIM for your imperfections—because it only means one thing—even at your imperfections, you were able to convince me that I should look at life beyond the misses, the mistakes and the imperfect.

I thank HIM when he gave you to me.
I thank HIM when he takes you away from me.
I thank HIM even more when he gave you back to me.

Today, I will say YES to you for the 2nd time around. But more than today's YES, let me remind you these...

I will say YES, when you ask me to make your coffee in the morning—even if I can't barely open my eyes, I would do it, because I want you to always remember how I made your coffee—making sure you will always come back to me and ask me again to do it for you. I would love that.

I will say YES when you ask me to try again and again to cook Mommy Rio's Paella recipe—even if it gets me frustrated again and again too, because I can't still perfect the taste—but because you said so, that you want to eat paella—I will cook for you. Just promise me you'll eat them all, no matter how it tastes.

I will say YES when you'll ask me to pack your things, prepare your clothes and OOTD's, and even shop for you. When you ask me to shave your beard, comb your hair, hug you when you want to recharge, and kiss you when you want more—because that's what I do best—taking care of you.

I will take care of you,
when you get home and you've got a tired bone and an aching muscles from work.

I will take care of you,
when you feel crawling in bed, missing Mommy Rio, and you just want to be alone—but no, you will never be alone from now on.

I will take care of you,
when you think you've done everything yet you feel it wasn't enough—because to me, you will always be enough.

I will take care of you,
when you're done taking care of people around you.

And RJ, if there will ever be a time that everything around you is saying NO—opportunities, circumstances and people—remember someone at home will always say YES to you...
