Chapter One - In a hurry
Baby woke up with a start on Monday morning, a slight ruffle to her fluffy black hair, rumpled pajama shorts and revealing crop top.
She was late for school, the third Monday in a row even though she promised herself she'd never do it again on the second Monday.
"Momma!" Baby called to her overworking mother who often forgot to wake Baby up in the morning, and with total disregard leave Baby at home when she ventured off to work.
Today was no different, Baby realised when she got no reply.
With a speed no track star could compete with, Baby gathered her essentials and entered her loony toons themed bathroom, a twenty minute time limit on her hygiene routine.♥️
Twenty minutes later Baby emerged refreshed and revitalized, ready to face her second class teacher with her usual excuse 'Madam, my momma is a working class adult and I missed the bus.'
Her teachers knew her circumstances and usually let her get off with an empty warning, Baby was a A-class student, polite and kind.
She never got into trouble much and was always up to date with assignments, they'd let her be late for as much as she wanted.
Baby didn't want to be late today though, she had promised her friends that she'd be at school earlier so they could have breakfast together...
But Baby vouched that she was in fact extremely late as she swung the front door open and was met with the sound of a revving engine.
Percy Oppenheimer reversed out of his driveway, looking just as disoriented as Baby, wild blonde locks blowing in the breeze, blazer wrinkled and white shirt untucked and barely buttoned.
He saw Baby walk down her driveway hastily,
Baby averted her eyes as soon as Percy looked in her direction, her feet pacing as fast as her heart,
"Louise, get in the car." Percy called out, his car rolling gently into her pathway near the sidewalk.
Baby looked up, frightened slightly at Percy's voice,
She shook her head gently, and as politely as she could "No thank you."
Percy felt his irritation spike, he rolled his eyes and leaned across his cars console to open the passenger door "In."
"Now."
