"Hey, Simone, you ready to go?" Claire said.
"I have to get my books first," I said.
Claire nodded her head.
I put my stuff away, and we headed to History.
"I'm gonna stab myself with a pencil if Mr. Smith talks about the assassination of Julius Caesar one more time," I whispered to Claire.
"Sameee," Claire said before chuckling.
I smirked before I continued my notes. The first half of the day went by pretty quick until Claire and I got to lunch, where Jackson was. Claire and I hurried past the jock table, but then I heard someone shout my name.
"Simone, can we just talk?" Jackson said, "I know you want me."
His friends burst out in laughter after he said this. I rolled my eyes and continued ignoring his antics. Claire shot a dirty look at their table before we went to the lunch line.
"Bye Claire, I'll see you next week," I shouted before boarding the bus.
I saw Claire wave before she started to walk home.
I put my headphones in and began drowning in the music. After a few minutes, the bus stopped in front of my house and I got out. Once I opened the door I saw a man beating up my mom, I started screaming for him to stop. The man looked at me, spit on my mother, and left.
I ran over to my mom, but she was going in and out of consciousness. I got out of the first kit and started to tend to her wounds. She started to wake up. I began to carry her to bed, as soon as I set her down, I wrapped her in blankets and left the room. This wasn't a new thing, my mom would buy drugs and not pay the people back, so they would come and "teach her a lesson." I went up to my room and started my homework.
2 hours later
After I finished my homework I decided to take a walk through the park. I put on a jacket and left. There were a few people at the park, but that was fine because I didn't want to be alone at the moment. I walked to the nearest bench, sat down, and began to take in the crisp air.
"Is this seat taken?" A man said.
"No, it's not," I said.
The man sat beside me and I took this time to examine his features. He was tall, maybe 6'3, and he had dark brown eyes. There was no doubt that he was attractive, but something about him was off. He just didn't seem right. The man looked me up and down, before speaking.
"What's a pretty girl like you doing here all alone?"I cringed at his remark.
"I'm just clearing my head," I said quickly.
"I'm Jay, and you?" he said.
I didn't really know if I wanted this man to know my name, but I didn't want to be rude.
"It's Simone," I replied.
"I don't mean to stare, but you are truly beautiful," Jay said.
"Thank you, but unless you're tryna catch case, I suggest you leave me alone," I said before standing up.
"How old are you?" I heard his voice say behind me."
16, it was nice meeting you, but I have to go." I rushed out hoping he would leave me alone.
"I'm 21, that's only five years," he said.
I just kept walking, but I felt a large and rough hand grab my arm and turn me around. I was met with Jay's chest before I looked up.
"Can I have your number, please, I'm really not a bad a guy. I'm sorry if I came on too strong," he said in a soft tone.
I didn't want to give him my number, but I decided to take risk, big mistake.
"Fine, it's ....,"I muttered.
"Thank you, have a goodnight," he said smirking.
I gave him a small smile and walked home.
