5. Big Mistake

2 Weeks Later

       Jay has been blowing up my phone constantly after I stopped talking to him. Today alone he's called me 42 times and texted me 104 times. I really like Jay, but I told him I needed help and he ignored me because he was mad I was hanging out with someone else.

 Anyways, I've been living with Claire and her family, they're all super nice, and I wish I could stay forever. I got a job a week ago at this book store downtown, it's really peaceful there and the owner is a sweet old lady that bakes complimentary cookies for each customer with there order. Today is Monday, and Claire and I are on our way  in her car.

"Are you ready to go?" Claire said.

"Yeah, I think I got everything," I responded, "Guess who texted me again just now."

"Jay needs to leave you alone he's acting like a total creep," Claire said.

Jay- You can't keep ignoring me 

Jay- Answer the phone

Jay- Please talk to me

Jay- I'm sorry for not texting you back it was a mistake 

Jay- ANSWER ME

Jay- Ok just you wait I got a surprise for you

       Claire and I stopped talking and she turned on Juice WRLD- Moonlight while she drove us to school. I thanked Claire for the ride and we went to our separate classes. Ever since Jackson saw Jay he hasn't talked to me, he just gives me dirty looks. I honestly don't know what his problem is, I had already told him I wasn't interested many times before. I sat down in Literature class and began writing down notes.

Lunch Time

I set down my lunch and texted Claire

Simone- Hey! Where are you?

Claire- I went out with some friends to get some food, sorry for not telling you it was the last minute.

Simone- Ok that's fine. Have fun!

Claire- I will see you after during History

Simone- Ok bye

Claire- Bye!

I put my phone down and began eating when I got another message.

Jay- I'm giving you one last chance

Simone- Jay stop texting me, please

Simone- I don't want to be with you anymore

Simone- Just move on

Jay- Really! You just expect me to move on!

Jay- Simone I fucking love you, you can't leave me

I was very shocked when I read Jay's message. We had only dated for a little over a month and he already loved me?

Simone- We didn't date long enough for you to love me

Simone- Please stop texting me and calling me or I'm gonna block you

Jay- You're not fucking leaving 

Jay- Stop acting dumb and just accept that we are meant for each other

       After he said that I just blocked him. He was acting hella weird and I don't need that. I flipped my phone over and began eating my sandwich when the other asshole sat across from me. I glanced up at him for a few seconds, before continuing to eat. I could feel Jackson looking at me, but he didn't say anything.

 "Jackson, what do you want?" I finally asked after a few minutes of uncomfortable silence.

"Why did you think it was ok to get a boyfriend," He said.

"Jackson I'm not going to say it again, we are not together," I said.

"You know what Simone!" He yelled," Fuck you that's why your dad is dead and you're mom's a drug addict. Your only "friend" isn't even here!"

       I felt my vision become blurry as I walked out of the classroom. I don't know what came over me, but I just left campus. I didn't know where to go, but I knew I couldn't be here. As I walked out of the gates and onto the sidewalk, the tears began to fall. Eventually, I found a bench and sat. I hadn't bothered to get my backpack, it was just me and my phone. While I was crying I felt my phone ping.

Unknown- I'm picking you up, it's Jay

Simone- I'm not even at school

Jay- Where are you

Simone- CreekVille Park

       I don't know why I told him where I was, but I did. Maybe it was because I didn't want to burden Claire since she was already doing so much for me. Or maybe it was because I just didn't want to be alone. Either way, I told him and it was one of the worst mistakes I had ever made in my life.
