32. Dreaming of You...

Dream

I found myself in a small dark room, but I wasn't pregnant. I tried to walk around, but I had a collar connected to the wall around my neck. I tried to pull the collar off, but it wouldn't budge. I felt my stomach, but it was so. Empty. 

I began to cry in the darkness until the door opened. The light was blinding, and all I could see was a tall silhouette of a man. Although his face was blank, I immediately knew who it was.

"You're finally awake," he said.

"Where's my baby," I whispered.

He didn't respond, and he began moving through the room. I heard a click, and the room was filled with light. I squinted almost immediately before slowly opening them back up. Jay was standing in front of me with a small bundle in his arms. He bent down slightly to reveal a sleeping baby, my baby. I reached out my hands to grab my son, but the collar yanked me back. I got back up and continued to try while Jay stood and laughed. I screamed for my baby, but he refused to give me him.

Eventually, Jay walked out of the room, leaving me in the dark again. I began just screaming and crying until I woke up. Dee was shaking me and trying to wake me up. 

"Honey, what's wrong?" she said.

"Oh, it's nothing, just a bad dream," I mumbled while still trying to catch my breath. 

Dee gave me a questioning look but didn't ask me anything else. I checked the time on my phone, and it read 7:00 a.m. I got out of bed and put on the pajama pants Dee gave to me. I went down the stairs and found Dee in the kitchen cooking. I hadn't had a warm breakfast since I was with Jay. I slowly walked into the kitchen and sat on a barstool. I quietly ate the waffles and bacon. 

After Dee and I finished, I began to say, "I should probably get going. I start school soon."

"Oh, ok, I'll give you a ride to where you're staying," Dee said while getting up.

I nodded my head and went to the car outside. I really liked Dee, and I hoped we could become friends. Dee unlocked the car, and I got in.
