-Excerpt from the story -
"Where did you think you were going, huh!" He screamed.
"I just assumed-" I...
"Um, I know you don't know me, but I was wondering if you could take my phone and throw it somewhere far from the motel," I said, "I understand if it's a weird request, but I'm pretty sure my ex put a tracker on it."
Jade looked at me from the mirror for a few seconds, before nodding her head and reaching her hand out so I could give her my phone.
"I can tell you're a good person, so I'll help you," she responded.
"Thank you so much," I said once the car pulled to a stop.
I began getting my bags when Jasmine called my name.
She handed me a piece of paper before saying, "Here's my number in case you need help."
I thanked her again before walking up to the motel office. There was an old man behind the desk with a white beard. He didn't seem scary, just tired.

"How can I help you," he murmured while shuffling some papers.
"I would like a room please, can I pay in cash?" I asked trying not to sound too desperate.
"It's 50 bucks a night, how long are you staying?' he asked.
"Can pay the 50 dollars each day I stay, because I don't know how long I'll be here," I said quietly.
The man nodded his head and went to get a key.
"Girls like you have stayed here before, and you definitely won't be the last," he said as I gave him 50 bucks, "I won't make you write your name down."
"Thank you," I said and described Jay to him just in case.
I began heading to my room which was up a flight of stairs. I finally found room 118 and unlocked the door. The room was quite plain, but I wasn't here to critique the design.

Once I put my bags in the corner of the room, I heard a knock. I jumped before slowly walking to the door and looking through the peephole. I saw the old man with something in his hands. I cautiously opened the door and the man gave me some papers before turning and leaving. I quickly shut and locked the door before sitting down to look through the papers.
There was a list of restaurants and stores near the motel, some newspapers that had job offers on them, and a local school pamphlet. School was gonna start in a little less than a month, so I had to be quick about applying. I decided to go up to a school called Damcott High tomorrow. It was pretty late, so I decided to go to sleep. I set the cheap alarm on the wooden nightstand to 6 and turned off the lights.
