40. Rebellion

Simone's Pov

After a few minutes of driving, I got to the clinic. I didn't know if they took walk-ins, but I had forgotten to schedule one yesterday. The clinic was kinda small since Jay didn't want me to be seen by anyone. The clinic was hella busy, but I didn't mind waiting. I walked up to the front desk, but it was a different lady this time. 

"Hi, do you take walk-ins?" I asked, "I don't mind waiting, and I'm a returning costumer."

"Let me check," the girl said before typing on her computer.

My eyes began to wander, and I saw a picture of the old receptionist with a small message under it, stating she died. I guess her name was June Bellows, and even though it didn't say how she died, I felt like Jay had something to do with it since she "disrespected" him. The woman said there was an opening in five minutes and to wait. I thanked her and sat down. I didn't want to look up June because it would only make me hate Jay more. I checked my phone, and of course, Jay had texted me.

Jay- Wyd.

Simone- Bout to go in the back.

Jay- Ok, come back when you are done.

Simone- What?

Jay- Come back home until your appt.

Simone- Can I get something to eat first?

Jay- No.

I turned my phone off and sighed. 

"Simone?" Dr. Amina said.

I got up and greeted her before going to the back.

"Your baby boy is very healthy, I'm guessing he'll be here by December 27th," she said.

 I smiled and allowed her to finish the rest of the appointment.

About 1 hour later (12:45) 

 I began driving back, but I saw a Wendy's. I parked and went inside. This was my miny rebellion against Jay. There wasn't a line, unlike the driveway, which was good.

"Hi, can I get the small Baconator meal with the vanilla frosty please," I said.

"Coming right up, cash or card?" the cashier asked.

"Card," I said and handed them Jay's card.

We finished the interaction, and I sat down.

Jay- You should be here by now...

Simone- I know.

 Jay- Where are you?

Simone- I'm fine.

Jay- WHERE ARE YOU

Simone- I'll be back soon.

Jay- WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU.

I didn't respond since they called my number and handed me my food. I decided to eat there since it wasn't late. I put in my AirPods and began listening to Throat Baby by BRS Kash.

30 minutes later (1:15)

I got into the car and began driving back to Jay's house. For some reason, I didn't feel scared at all, so I decided to go to a book store. Jay was still texting me, but I only focused on getting to the book store. Jay called my phone, so I answered, so he knew I wasn't running away.

Jay- Where the fuck are you!

Simone- I got something to eat, and I'm finna go to a store.

Jay- Get yo ass home now!

Simone- I want to go to the store.

Jay- You better be back in five minutes, or I swear I'll kill yo ass!

Simone- I already told you what I'm doing, bye.

I pulled up to a bookstore I used to go to with my dad and got out. It was nice and quiet in the store, which was something I really needed. I browsed the romance section and eventually settled on two princesses falling in love and running away.

3 hours later (4:15)

I had ended up reading several books. Until I was finally ready to leave, I got two books before leaving. I also window shopped for a little before heading back.

Jay's Pov

I can't believe Simone's not back yet. I let her go ONE place by herself, and she pulls this shit. I wasn't gonna deal with this right now, so I'm finna get dressed and go to the club. I called up some of my people and told them where I would be. I needed to get my mind off of things and fuck something. As soon as I got dressed and headed outside, I saw a car pull up...

Simone's Pov

After a few minutes, I got back to Jay's house, and I saw Jay outside. I parked the car, but he was already at my window. I unlocked the door and reached to get my books from the passenger's seat, but he had already opened the door and grabbed me by my hair. I screamed as he pulled me out of the car, but he didn't stop. I managed to get my hair out of his grip and ran towards the woods. He ran after me, but I was already hiding from him. He looked around for about ten more minutes before getting in his car and leaving. After a little longer, I got my books and went inside. I put the books in Jay's room under my nightstand and began to run a bath.

 My body was tired, and the baby took up most of my energy. The warm water soothed my body, and I immediately relaxed. After about 30 minutes, I got out and put on a t-shirt with some track shorts before tying my hair in a top bun. I was honestly pretty tired, and since Jay was gone, I went to sleep in the guest room. I turned off the light and drifted into a deep sleep.
