The tale of two glasses of water.
You know you can only go up from stupid. Up is right in the middle of the word. A person has to work hard to obtain knowledge or wisdom.
See if you can follow this; let us say you have two glasses of water. The water represents wisdom or knowledge. Then you take a rock. The rock represents your brain. The rock is not porous. Let us then take the rock and drop it in one of the glasses. The rock will sink to the bottom of the glass. No matter how low you make the water level in the glass the rock will always stay on the bottom. Therefore, if you chose to stay close-minded and think you know it all and fail to learn from your surroundings, you go nowhere.
Now compare your brain to a sponge. It does not matter if the sponge has been out in the sun, is dried up and hard as a brick. If you drop the sponge into the water, it will begin to expand and get bigger. Yes, it may even sink a little, but eventually, it will expand and get bigger and rise to the top. It will go up.
In conclusion, an open mind may make you smarter, more aware and not stupid. (Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings)
