I run a three-mile loop around my house. On this day, I had a lot on my mind, that I needed to get clear. As I began my run, I made my way to this road, that has an oak tree , off to the left side, at the bottom of this hill. While getting closer to this tree, and just about to run under it, a lone leaf came swirling down from the tree. The leaf descended at just the exact time as I ran under it. I could have caught it in my hand. At that moment, I thought, "not a leaf falls from a tree that God does not know about". Somehow, I connected that God knew what I was going through and it was going to be alright.
I know some would say that it is just a coincidence. I say that divine intervention happens all the time. I have to wonder; why it was just one leaf? How the exact timing occurred? I probably would not have paid much attention to it, if there were a bunch of leaves. The craziest thing to me is the amount of times, since that occurrence, that a lone leaf will show up. One time a leaf blew in my office. There was another time, that I was working out in my garage and I looked down to see an imprint of a leaf in the concrete between my feet. There have been several occasions of this leaf blessing or message. How different life would be if you could get a sign from God that everything is going to be alright.
My humanity seems to enjoy worrying and stressing over life's challenges. This is definitely an aspect of my life I wish I could let go of. Although, I may fail a thousand times, I thank God every time I see a solo leaf cross my path. I thank God that I think the way I do. I wish my humanity would get out of the way, so I could have a more peaceful life.
