Everyone has heard the expression "No hard feelings." Well there are hard feelings. Feelings or emotions are the driving force behind so many people moving in a certain direction. Hard feelings can be decisions based on an inability to forgive or forget. A hardened heart can destroy a person from the inside out. Harboring ill feelings can keep a person up at night or lead to depression, depending on the need to rationalize the reason or to have power over the reason. Hard feelings build a fortress around a person's heart, which does not allow anything out or anything in.
It is often easier to change a person a person's mind with the truth. To change someone's heart is challenging, to break down the layers of hurt and disappointment, takes years of therapy and sometimes medication. This is why the example of Jesus' humanity is so important to research. Despite the fact that so many people wronged him if every way possible, his famous last words were "forgive them, they know not what they do." To me, this freeing factor allowed Jesus to claim victory over death and ultimately defeat evil.
