While sitting in church on week three of advent I noticed that the candle was pink. I have been watching this candle for 52 years of my life. This day my eyes became open to the possibilities. The candle is pink, not purple. To make purple out of pink you would have to add blue, so could it be that this day is the day to not be blue or sad. Is it the day, to not be blue knowing that we are closer to the birth of Jesus Christ?
Could pink be the representation of the blood and water that poured out of Jesus through his sacred heart. I find it interesting, because there are so many things that happen in the church that draw us to a state of curiosity to uncover the truths. The simple things we observed could have such an impact on why we do what we do.
Like the game of baseball. Everything seems so simple from the stands, but there are some complicated things going on the field.
Advent also starts the word adventure. This prepares us for the year's adventure that is about to begin with the birth of a new relationship with the son of man and the defender of humanity. I love a new adventure! I love the new places I may discover along the way. I love the fact that I may get lost, to only find my way back to the path I was supposed to be on.
