So I put your purpose first as the title and it changed to you're. I put you're and it changed to you are in the correction. I think everyone wants to have a purpose, a meaning to his or her life. But what is it? What is the passion? What does it look like? What are you supposed to do? How do you find it? You are purpose! You were made on purpose or at least you would like to think that. You exist, so therefore you are! But what do you do about it? The search can be overwhelming, hard, confusing and at times blind. Do you feel it? Does a traumatic experience have to happen? What is the equation to discover it? I don't know! I do know that it is different for everyone. It hits at different times. Are you doing it now and you are not aware of it? Are you content, at peace, bored, frustrated or satisfied? You are instructed to be where you are, live each day to the fullest, be content and most of all surrender to God. What is that like? Pray for it, have a novena, trust in the Lord with all of your heart and wait. How do you know?
Are you the people on the roof of a house, that is near a river that is flooding and a boat comes by to offer help and you tell them God will save me. Later to find out, after you are dead, that he sent you three rescue boats that you did not take the offer. Did you not read the sign language correctly? Did you go this way, when you should have gone that way and resented your plan when things do not go as planned?
So many questions of uncertainty. What do you do? How do you advise someone who wants the answers and they are relying on you to point them in the right direction? Do I admit my weakness and defer to God? Do I think that God is using me as a voice of clarity for those who are depressed, distressed and longing for the google answer? What is the answer? Patience is a virtue. Persistence makes you stronger. How far are you willing to go? When do you give up? Like I have said before, not to sound like a cliche', "with the faith of a mustard seed you can move mountains" maybe not Mt. St. Helens, but maybe the mountain of questions. Try to keep it simple stupid, know you are doing everything you can and you have left no stone upturned. Keep the prayer lines open and trust like a child, that God will open your eyes when the time is right.
If I know God, he is a clutch hitter and he loves you and me. So stay strong, do not listen to the dark sided thoughts that try to divide you from the ones who love you and separate you from your faith. There is a plan, "if you build it he will come". Wait and see, the sun brings a new day and a chance for another opportunity. "You never know what you may get" you never know whom you might meet. You never know who may text you out of the blue. That uncertainty, that surprise is the great excitement of the one who loves you. You are purpose! You will figure it out! Different experience will bring you closer to you calling. The road is tough, the path may be narrow, but stay the course fight the good fight, keep your faith and finish the race.
I offer this little prayer; I pray that God opens your eyes to see the path, if you are blind to his plan, I pray he opens your ears if you cannot hear him telling you what to do with your life, I pray that he gives you the strength and courage to make your steps towards being the best version of yourself, if you have been crippled by fear and I pray that he will bring to life that person inside of you, that you have put to death because of fear or rejection. You are purpose!
