Let us see if we can make sense or find truth in the two very similar words.
First truth is there is three letters that separate the W to the S. The number three is significant in the spiritual realm.
Secondly, they have inner after them, so it has something to do with the inner workings of the mentality or emotional well-being of the person dealing with themselves.
I found, after asking a class of seniors, what they thought the words meant. We categorized the definition into winner, sinner and loser. We had a long list of words that they felt described each category. I asked a teacher what she thought the difference was in the words. She said, "I admit that I am a sinner". This means that I have flaws and I am not perfect.
Then I thought about the JV baseball game I watched this past weekend: This team was terrible and they brought in this pitcher that was terrible/raw. As the game progressed, he was getting the opposing team to hit routine ground balls. His defense was not very supportive with getting him outs. Pretty soon this pitcher started telling his teammates how to play and that they should do better.
I thought this is exactly what I think happens in the church/Christianity. All of a sudden, people start living right by going to church, not using foul language and feeling good about themselves. The mentality of a winner can sometimes be judgmental of those who do not perform as well as they do.
In contrast, the mentality of the sinner, admits they are flawed and are more willing to accept the flaws of others.
In conclusion, free yourself! Know you are a sinner and then forgive those who have sinner against you. Because if you are that of arrogance, you will imprison yourself in the need for perfection, not only in yourself, but of others.
