James POV

Since my little quiddich fiasco, I've been trying to figure out what this damn task is. No where in the library does it say anything about what happened in the event, and Sirius wouldn't shut up when talking about his 'conspiracies' about the task. One morning, he said it was surviving the Cruiciartis Curse, which,  mind you any use of that curse is illegal and is a one way ticket to Azkaban. Then 15 minutes later he said it was defeating a troll while you were under the Imperious Curse. Stupid git. At least Lily would be at the first task. She hadn't really left my side while I was in the hospital wing. This morning, however, I had an idea. I knew that whatever I was facing two weeks from now was being kept in the Forbidden Forest. I could go down there in my invisibility cloak that was a family heirloom and check things out.

"Jamsie are you even listening to me?'"

I snapped out of my thinking and saw Sirius looking at me.

"The hell did you call me 'Jamsie' for?" I asked.

"To get your damn attention. I was talking about what you're probably gonna have to face."

"In the first task? Yeah sure, what is this time? I'll have to drink poison and live to tell the tale? I don't think so, Padfoot."

"Whatever. Here comes your savior. Oh and my little angel." Sirius said, looking up and seeing Lily, Marlene, and Alice walking in to the great hall and sit near us.

"Morning, Potter, figured out the first task yet?" Lily said as she grabbed some fruit.

"Nah, not yet." I said carelessly, looking at her. She looked really pretty, even if she wasn't wearing her 'Potter, 07' jumper. I'll have to convince her to do that sometime soon.

"Well, since it would be most unfortunate to see the beloved Gryffindor seeker killed by Merlin-knows-what in two weeks, I'd like to help you. Can you meet me in the Library after dinner?"

I was absolutely shocked. I should fall off my broom more often, it basically forces Lily to be nice to me out of pity.

"Yeah, sure, I'd love to."

"Great!"

Lily POV

I don't know what I was thinking, asking James on what is basically a library date.

But a promise is a promise and I met him at the Library after dinner. Since I was getting tired of my itchy wool skirt, I changed into more casual bottoms aka sweatpants. I really thought about wearing my 'Potter, 07' jersey, but decided against it.

I saw James in the Library when I got there, already with a large stack of books. James may be a complete prat romantic, but he's so smart. To bad he never shows it.

"Hi James." I said quietly while sitting down next to him.

"Hello, love of my life." He said grabbing one of the books (Every Possible Solution to Life-Threatening Situations, by Bradley Danforth) and opening it.
