I wish you great luck with your recovery and hope I can see your beautiful face very soon.
I love you (y/n)
~Aaron
You have been at the hospital for 2 more months finishing your physical therapy. The team has been there for you as much as they can, but they do still have cases to go on, so most of the time your on your own. To entertain yourself you've picked up knitting as a hobby. And with the time you have on your hands, so far you have made a scarf for everybody on the team, and even some for the nurses. The team coming to see you is great and all but each time, the same person is missing, Aaron.
It does break your heart he won't come, but you have recently learned to deal with the loss. Today your supposed to leave the hospital, and Emily is going to be taking you home. Waiting for your release papers you pull your crutches from your side table and stand on them. It's still hard to walk so you use the crutches to help wobble you over to your wheel chair. Plopping down into the soft seat you see doctor bailey walk in with a clipboard and a pen.
"Alright (y/n) your free to go, but I dont want to see you back here, not like this anyways" she smiles at you
"I don't plan on it" you chuckle
Your voice still in a whisper, you clear your throat as the nurse grabs your chair and starts to push you out of the door. When you exit the room you see Emily walking towards you.
"Hey (y/n)! Sorry I'm late, got held up at the office" she smiles
You shrug your shoulders, telling her its fine. Your pushed out of the E.R doors, and you deeply inhale when you reach the fresh air. You haven't been outside since before you were admitted, and the fresh air felt so nice. You get loaded into Emily's car and buckle yourself in. Emily enters the car, putting on her belt and then starts driving out of the parking lot.
"Are you tired?" she asks softly
"Not a bit" you laugh
"OK, cause the team really wants to see you, so I was going to ask if you wanted to surprise them?" she grins at you
"How?" you ask
"We can go to the office!"
"Oh, um, isn't Aaron in today?" you sigh
"Yes..but nobody said you have to talk to him. Hes probably to pussy to even say hi" she mumbles "But first lets go home to get your stuff put away, and figure out that stupid chair" she points to the wheelchair in the back seat
The ride was full of silence. You know Emily is worried, and you really don't want her to be. Trying to think of something to make her happier you smile and turn on the radio. You and Emily are like sisters, so you know almost everything about each other, and in this case that really helped. You turned on the radio and relies that Emily's fav song is playing, Perfect by Headly. You look at her with a smile on your face, and she starts laughing, and before you know it, you reach a certain part and Emily starts singing along
"Cause I'm not perfect, but I keep tryin, cause that's what I said I would do, from the start!" she sings wildly
You just sit there and laugh. You have always had a good singing voice growing up, but with all the trauma to your throat, you don't wanna chance it. Your smile grows wider as Emily keeps singing along, throwing her arms through the air, and sometimes pointing at you while singing the lyrics. Before you know it the songs over and your at your house.
"OK, you wait here and let me grab your chair" Emily says hopping out of her seat
She unloads the chair, opens your car door and places the chair right in front of you.
"Alright woman, help me out here" she smiles
"Pull the bar at the top and push the bottom of the chair, it should open" you tell her
She manages to open the seating part, setting it down on the hard cement.
"OK, now grab the wheels and attach them at the sides, it should be a screw" you instruct
And she does just that. Her faces shines in the bright sunlight, and she squints as she helps you out of the car and into your chair. Your pushed inside and to your surprise everything was cleaned. No glass on the floor, no blood stains on the floor or the walls, everything was clean. But there was something else..
"Aaron did this, cleaned all the glass, blood, made your bed. He even fixed your side table" she laughed "He also bought you that new coffee table" She said pointing to the glass table in front of your couch
It was almost the exact same as your old one, but a little bit bigger, and much cleaner. Everything that was sitting on your old surface, was now sitting on the new one, your TV remote, a few magazines, but there was something new, a vase of flowers.
"Those are also from him"
A bunch of roses were planted in the middle of the table, with there tall green stems, and the red heads blooming at the tips. The gesture makes you smile, but your pulled out of your thoughts as Emily grabs your hand
"You alright? If you don't want to stay here we can go to my place" she says
"I'm OK" you say "Just, taking in the room" you smile
"OK, well I am going to be staying with you for a while, helping you out" she says "Your couch will be seeing my ass for quite a while, I want to make sure your OK"
"Emi-"
"No arguing! Its not like you can stand to kick my ass out anyways" she laughs
You give in to the gesture and shrug your shoulders. The thought of having someone other then yourself on the house makes you happy. You can have someone to talk to, to watch movies with. But one thing you know is coming, is the talk about hotch, but your going to hold that off as much as possible.
"OK! the team is still at the office doing work, are you ready?!" Emily cheers
you just smile, you have never been so excited to see people in your life. Seeing your family again, being able to hug them, its going to be amazing. You can't wait
"As ready as i'll ever be"
