Virgil hummed softly as he worked on clearing up the living room. Thomas was coming over to check in on him since he's been here for about half a year already. Virgil had his headphones on listening to 'Hail to the king' by Avenged Sevenfold. He was so lost in it all he didn't even notice the person leaned against the wall watching. His green eyes lit like green fire as he watched Virgil move about the room. He held up a paper ball and smirked as he tossed it to Virgil making the younger jump slightly in confusion. Virgil frowned as he pulled his headphones off only to glare over at the laughing man holding a cup of coffee.
"Roman?" Roman just smirked more as he cocked an eyebrow at the younger.
"Emo nightmare." Virgil's eyes went wide as Roman stalked closer with this look in his eyes. "What are you doing anyway?" Virgil frowned seeing the red marks down Roman's arms since the older was wearing a short-sleeve white shirt. "Thought I told you Lo, Pat, and I handle the cleaning."
"Thomas..." Virgil had to turn to follow Roman as the man picked up a pillow and set it back on the couch still smirking. "Thomas is stopping by."
"Why? I love my cousin but he doesn't need to come here." Virgil hummed in annoyance as Roman put his hand on his hip giving Virgil clear sass. "And that doesn't answer my question... Why did YOU decide to clean? I don't remember EVER seeing you clean."
"I help." Roman laughed a little making Virgil a bit tense. He understood though. It's been like this for quite some time. The on again off again attitude Roman gave him... One moment Roman's all flirt and kind. He's literally the sweetest person besides Patton and makes Virgil feel special... and the next he's a total fucking asshole. Virgil's come to notice the nicknames as his indication of which Roman he's getting too. The mean ones like 'Emo nightmare' always mean the asshole, Roman. While, Stormfly, Stormcloud, and ANY flirty nicknames mean the other one. Virgil doesn't mind. With all his talks with the 'flirty' Roman, he's come to learn that the asshole one is because his issues are getting to him. That's when Roman really shouldn't be around Virgil but Roman's told him sometimes it's hard. He's never explained why just that it was. "I help with the dishes and other things that Patton might need help with."
"Oh? By why should someone like you HAVE to help?" Roman was literally eying him up and down before he growled as he spun around putting distance between them. It was a common occurrence when he's like this. Roman would be a total asshole, slip an obvious flirty remark in, before walking away without actually leaving until his attitude gets really bad and he forces himself to leave as to not upset Virgil more. "Why is Thomas coming, Virgil?" Roman's eyes darkened as he sipped his coffee some more. "You haven't been telling him bad things have you?"
"You mean how your an ass?"
"Oh, come now, Evanescence. No need to be rude." Roman glared the smaller down before glancing over at the clock. "When is Tommy Salami supposed to be here?"
"Thomas said he'd bee here around 3?" Roman's eyes widened as he shot Virgil a concerned look.
"And your cleaning now? It's only 11?" Virgil smiled as Roman shook his head. "That's just adding needless stress, Virge. The house is pretty much done anyway and this is Thomas, were talking about. Stressing yourself out now won't help you. Don't worry about the house ok. Just relax." Roman frowned as his eyes flashed a bit and he groaned. "No use being a pain now anyway. At least give me a few more hours if you can, Skellington."
"Honestly, Roman, you give me whiplash sometimes." Virgil chuckled rubbing his forehead a bit in thought as Roman frowned more with this sad look in his eyes. "I'm straightening up to give myself something to do. Thomas said 3 but I've learned he gives me a later time so that he comes when I'm more 'relaxed' and not thinking about his arrival. Chances are he'll be here more within the hour."
"Oh..." Virgil just smiled as Roman took one final sip of his drink. It was more a chugging and no doubt as an attempt to drown himself. "Forget I said anything then, Victor Van Dort."
"Does that make you Emily?" Roman paled as Virgil giggled softly. "What you can dish it but can't take it?" Roman quite literally shut down as he let his now empty cup sit at his side while Virgil went back to his cleaning. Roman gave a small smile as his eyes glanced up to see Virgil practically shimmering under the chandelier lights.
"I'd gladly be your Emily." Virgil frowned as he glanced back to see Roman leaving. He hadn't exactly heard him but he knew Roman had said something.
"What?" Roman laughed as he shook his head.
"Forget it, Betelguese. I'll talk to you later." Virgil just watched as Roman left. He stood there with a slight frown as he tried to work through his thoughts. He still didn't understand what it was about Roman that drew him to him. All he knew was that he found Roman's presence far more enjoyable than anyone else. He wasn't stupid or daft. He's been with other men before. He knew the sign of him liking someone. The problem one he didn't want to find himself in another toxic relationship. Having escaped Marcos took everything out of him. He had nothing and no one left to claim as his own or his friends. He didn't even have his family to call on anymore because Marcos made it all seem like it was Virgil who was the abuser. He just didn't want to put himself out there again and risk it all... and he definitely didn't want to... to... well... He didn't want to be 'intimate'.
"Virgil?" Virgil laughed as he set the tv remote back on the table and left the living room to greet his friend. Virgil found Thomas standing in the foyer with a smile on his face.
"I thought you said three?" Thomas laughed as he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Come on. We can talk in the living room." Thomas nodded as he started off with Virgil following. Virgil spotted Roman on the steps only to frown as the man ran up to the rooms before he could even say anything.
"You coming, Virgil?" Virgil nodded as he pulled his gaze away from the staircase and smiled.
"Yeah, I'm coming."
