"I'm not sorry." Roman froze up the moment he and Virgil walked back into the living room. Janus was there on the couched with clenched fists looking as if he had done the worst thing in the world. "I totally meant to say whatever it was that set you off."

"Uh..."

"Janus is a compulsive liar." Roman's eyes went wide as Virgil smiled over at him. "It's going to take a while for all of you to understand the cues of when he's lying but... Basically he was apologizing for triggering you."

"No." Roman frowned as he shook his hand and sighed.

"I-It's ok." Roman offered a small smile as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. "I'm sorry for worrying you... if I did. I'm ok now. I just uh... can't take being called selfish." Janus nodded as he glanced over at Virge.

"I'll let you know the triggers later, if that's ok with Roman." Roman nodded as Virgil gently took his hand. "Now that that's over with..." Virgil's smile grew as he turned back to his old friend. "It's been a long time Jan. I've missed you."

"Yet you left me." Roman's eyes narrowed as he protectively squeezed Virgil's hand, who only laughed in understanding.

"Love you too, Jan." Roman frowned as Virgil just sighed and moved to sit beside the other. "I'm sorry for what I said. I thought I had too. Marcos got it in my head that I couldn't be friends with you. And do you want to know the worst thing about it all? He didn't even give me a reason good or bad. He just told me to drop it... and so I did because he told me to."

"It's ok, Vi." Janus sighed as he just looked away. "I understand why he would..."

"No, I don't think you do." Janus frowned as he looked up to see Roman shaking his head. "Virgil? Do you want to explain or..."

"Jan, Marcos was abusive." You could literally see the anger fill those heterochromatic blue and grey eyes. "He did a lot but... Being here has helped me. I'm not all better and I know there will be things I'll never lose but..." Virgil's eyes met with Roman's as he smiled fondly. "I am getting better. I finally feel safe again."

"I'm sorry, Vi. I should've checked in with you." Virgil shook his head as he brushed Janus's hair away.

"No, you're ok, Jan. Even if you had chances are nothing would have changed. I was willing to do anything for him. It wasn't until he finally left for some woman that I even got out from under him."

"You're here now, Virge." Roman whispered out making Virgil smile more as he nodded.

"Yeah... Yeah, I am." Roman went to say something when his alarm went off making him jump.

"Shit, already?"

"What?" Roman smiled awkwardly as his eyes darted between Virgil, Janus, and his phone. "Ro?"

"I've got to." Roman started to leave, grabbing his jacket he had thrown over the couch the last time he had worn it. He had completely forgotten about his therapy appointment.

"Wait, you're leaving? Now?" Roman paused as he turned back to see Virgil giving him this dumbfounded look. "After everything that happened today... Where are you going?"

"Virgil..." Roman frowned as he shook his head and sighed. "I'm sorry, Virge. It's about... about that one thing. I just can't..." Virgil scoffed as he rolled his eyes making Roman's chest clench with guilt. "It's just a meeting. I promise. I had them schedule it later so I could spend the day with you but... I forgot about Janus."

"Roman, it's nearly 5. What meeting could possibly happening right now?"

"Well technically it's at six but it takes me 45 minutes to get there and I don't like arriving places right on time so... Virgil, please. I promise it's just a meeting. I can't be late. I have to go." Virgil frowned as he looked down. "What?"

"You're going to miss dinner."

"Oh shit." Virgil smiled sadly as Roman frowned. "We were going to talk about..." His eyes darted to a very concerned Janus before going back to Virgil. "...that thing over dinner, weren't we?" Virgil only nodded but it was enough to break Roman's heart. "I'm sorry Virgil. But... I can't miss this. We can talk when I get back, can't we?"

"Well, I mean... Yeah, but..." Virgil stopped seeing Roman's guilty expression and he sighed with a nod. "It not important, Roman. Not as important as your meet is, I guess. It's ok. I'll save you something and we can talk things over later. Janus and I have a lot to catch up on anyway."

"I really am sorry."

"I know. I can tell." Virgil smiled sadly as he just shooed the other off. "Go on, Princey, before you're late." Virgil just sat there watching as Roman ran out the room in silence. Once again Roman had left for some super-secret meeting without telling him anything... and now... now it was so late at night too. What exactly could be so important, yet make it so he couldn't tell him?

"He's totally cheating."

"You think?" Janus was quick to make Virgil look right at him as he shook his head. "Oh, sorry. You were lying weren't you?"

"It's kind of obvious you two are dating." Virgil laughed with a short nod as Janus gave him a worried look. "He looked very upset that he had to leave."

"I know... I do. I know. It's just..." Virgil sighed as he ran shaky hands through his hair. "I can't stop thinking about Marcos. All the things he did... I can't take it. I love Roman. I love him. He's been nothing but the absolute best to me. I hate feeling so... suspicious."

"I could try to dig up some dirt on him?" Virgil laughed as he shrugged.

"You'd probably only hear about his 'reputation'... Before he got with me he was pretty... flirty and well... had a few one night stands." Janus's eyes narrowed as Virgil looked away. "He was very open with me about nearly everything. Even the fact that he was originally named 'Roman Prince' not 'Sanders'."

"Wait, if Roman Sanders was open about everything... was Roman Prince?" Virgil frowned in confusion as Janus rolled his eyes. "I mean did you actually ask around about 'Prince'?"

"Of course not. Like I said Roman was very open with me. What are you getting at Jan?" Jan just shook his head as he tried to offer a smile.

"Don't worry about it, Vi. I'll take care of everything."
