"Wait really?" Roman was just lost in his euphoria as Virgil smiled sheepishly. "I just... I always thought you didn't like me... not... not like that."
"Virgil, It's because I've liked you that I've been so... well like the way I have been. It's not easy for me... dealing with crushes and shit." Virgil laughed as Roman smiled brightly. "At first I thought it was just me being me but... time went on and it never faded... in fact, it got stronger and then..."
"Hey, now, Princey. You don't have to explain." Virgil's fingers trailed Roman's cheek, not for one second missing how the other shivered at his touch. "Just now that... I'm here." Their breath were hot against each other's skin as they leaned closer. Roman's eyes slipped shut as Virgil laughed and gently pecked his cheek. "If I knew you felt the same... I don't know what I would have done."
"I know I what I would've done." Virgil yipped slightly as Roman pulled him down a bit leaning over him to kiss his neck gently. "I wouldn't have held back for so long." Roman's lips trailed back to Virgil's as his fingers intertangled with those purple locks. "I... I would've... I would've..." Roman let out a shaky breath as felt Virgil grip his shirt. The short shakey breaths under him as Virgil laid there with his eyes closed was the only thing spurring Roman on as he kissed the man deeply. "I would have shown you far sooner." Roman pecked his jawline with small kisses until he reached the crook of Virgil's neck eliciting a short gasp from the smaller.
"Roman..." Roman's blood burned in him as his hands slipped to Virgil's waist. "Ro... R-Ro... Roman." Virgil panted as his eyes rolled back a bit but a look of anxious fear was clear in his expression. "Ah... Fu-... Ro?" Roman hummed as his fingers found the edge of Virgil's shirt. "Roman, stop."
"Shit." Roman jumped up eyes filled with guilt and terror as he stumbled off of the man. The two of them just stayed there panting as they tried to come down from... all of that. "I'm sorry." Roman was the first to speak as he gripped his hair tightly. "I fucked up. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I didn't even ask. I just..."
"H-Hey no... No... Don't... Don't apologize." Virgil smiled as he struggled to catch his breath. "It's not... not you."
"No, It was definitely me. Is... It's ok though. I-If your mad or whatever... I'll just..."
"Roman, I'm not mad." Virgil laughed as he carefully pushed himself back up and just beamed. "I'm not mad at all. I just... I can't. I want to. I want to be able to do that with you." Virgil's eyes darkened making Roman tense up as the younger looked away. "I just can't right now. If you want me... If you want this relationship... If you want a relationship at all..."
"I do, Virgil."
"Then you have to wait." Roman's eyes went wide as his blood froze over. Virgil noticed the fear and he scoffed, rolling his eyes as he pushed his knees up. "If you can't then fine. Go find someone else who will give it up..."
"I don't want anyone else." Virgil frowned as Roman shook himself out of his thoughts. "I just don't know if I can... wait. I mean... Shit, that came out wrong."
"You can't wait? Figures... just another..."
"Virgil, please let me explain?" Virgil frowned as Roman shook slightly trying to calm his nerves. "It's not that I can't wait. And... And Virgil, if it's what you need then... Then I WILL wait. I will wait for as long as you need me to because for the first time in my life this... has nothing to do with that." Virgil's eyes narrowed in confusion as Roman looked away. "What I meant was it might be hard for me with my thoughts the way they are. I'll do whatever I have to, Virgil. I just... I don't want to hurt you."
"And I want this to work Roman." Virgil bit his lip anxiously as he stared at his hands. "I care about you too, ok? It's just... I was in a very long and very toxic relationship." Roman's eyes went wide as Virgil's voice cracked. "He abused me and took so much away from me. Including my sense of safety... of love... I want to be able to be loved again but... If that is what you want right now... It just can't happen. I still feel him... on me."
"Virgil, I would never consciously hurt you." Virgil smiled softly as he wrapped his arms around himself. "I will do whatever you need to feel safe. I promise. This... this is nothing. I will wait forever if I have to." Roman sighed as he glanced over at the door and tensed. "You just... have to forgive me."
"What for?" Roman laughed as Virgil shot him this concerned look.
"You're going to have a very... flighty boyfriend for a while." Virgil's frowned as Roman looked away again. "I want you to feel safe and loved, but that means I'm going to have to work on things. Things I avoided for so long..."
"Roman..."
"I don't mind it, really. Maybe this was what I needed? A reason to work on them perhaps. I just... I'm willing to wait for you and to help carry all the baggage you might have." Roman's eyes met with Virgil's and it was like the world melted away for the both of them. "I only ask that you be patient with me too. It won't be easy for me, Virgil, but... I'm willing to try... if you are."
"You seriously are a fucking prince aren't you?" Roman beamed as Virgil placed a soft kiss on his cheek.
"I'm no 'Prince'. I'm a 'Sanders' and we 'Sanders' are raised to be royalty." Virgil chuckled as Roman wrapped his arms around him with a very fond expression. "But I'd gladly be your prince if you wanted me to be."
"My prince?" Roman felt that tingle down his spine as Virgil's voice went raspy. "I think I like the sound of that."
"That's good. I'm glad but..." Roman's heart was racing at their close proximity and he knew he was going to have a bit of a problem soon if he didn't figure something out.
"You've gotta go?" Roman nodded with a sad smile but Virgil only laughed having been through this enough times to know it's important. "Ok Ro. I'll see you later though right?"
"Of course, Stormfly."
