Roman started to set the table just as Patton stumbled into the room and froze up. The two just stared at each other a bit before Patton shrugged and turned around, leaving Roman there to just laugh. It's usually like this. Since Roman's nights haven't been very restful as of late, he's been beating Patton to breakfast and all that jazz. It's become such a regular occurrence, Roman was surprised Patton was even still waking up early anyway. Roman checked the clock and smiled as he stepped back from the table. He was going to go check his to-do list, when someone walked in with a frown. Logan is normally up early too... unfortunately it wasn't Logan.

"Princey?" Roman tensed up as he looked up to see Virgil rubbing his eyes tiredly with sweater paws as he yawned. "What are you doing up?" Roman couldn't speak. With everything that happened in his dreams and then just... He looked so fucking adorable. His dyed purple hair was a mess. AND HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY MAKEUP ON! Roman blushed badly as he Virgil dropped his hand to reveal the many freckles that lined his nose and cheeks on his fair skin. He really was a very light skin tone. Practically porcelain... It'd be so easy to ma-... "Princey!"

"What?!" Virgil jumped with this look of shock and confusion at Roman's tone. Roman groaned as he shook his head and frowned. "What do you want?"

"I was just asking why you were up so early." Virgil's eyes went to the table and frowned seeing the food out. "Did you make a continental breakfast like some hotel?"

"Yeah. So what?" Roman tapped his foot anxiously as he tried to keep his breathing calm. He had to get out of there and fast but Virgil was in his way. "I made breakfast. Why does it matter what I did for it, Dark and Dreary?"

"Dark and... Roman, are you ok?" Roman groaned slightly louder making Virgil's eyes narrow.

"I'm fine. You're the one asking stupid questions." Virgil frowned as he hugged himself a bit as if on guard.

"I'm just concerned about you. You usually try to be so nice to everyone and yet... here you are snapping my head off." Roman rolled his eyes with a laughed making Virgil even more worried. "Roman something is obviously going on. If you don't want to talk about it fine. I'm the last person to push you about that but you don't have to be so..."

"So what, Virgil?" Virgil clammed up as Roman took a step closer with this dark look in his eyes. "It's nearly 6 in the morning. I'm fucking tired. Ok? Maybe I just don't want to deal with any more of this shit right now."

"Any more... Roman, I don't understand." Roman frowned as he watched Virgil curl up a bit in anxiety. "You've never been like this with me. Th-That first day you were so nice. You were patient and understanding. I thought... I thought you cared."

"Virgil, I do care." Roman was tense. He was really really tense. All he wanted to do was pull Virgil in close wipe those teary eyes and kiss him till the earth ends. But that's precisely the problem... and why he needed to leave. "I just can't do this right now. Please, understand... I just can't. I'm sorry."

"I just don't understand, Roman. I get not wanting to talk. Ok? I understand not wanting to let someone in but... You're honestly scaring me  right now..."

"Oh, just shut up. Leave me alone, Marilyn Marose. The only thing I don't want to do right now is to be here with you, so if you could excuse me." Virgil grabbed Roman's arm the moment the older tried to pass him making Roman snap. "Virgil, I swear to god-..." Their eyes met and all the air seemed to get sucked out of Roman entirely. Roman just stared into those watery blue eyes filled with pain and he couldn't help inch closer. Roman's heart hammered in his chest as Virgil slowly let go of Roman's arm, the older far closer than he realized he had gotten. Their chests were nearly bumping when Roman's eyes narrowed having finally caught up to himself. His heart broke as he looked away and stepped off to the side. "Just get out of my way, Virgil..." Roman's voice broke as he started for the door. "please... just leave me alone."

"I don't..." Virgil stood there frozen watching as Roman went for the door. "I don't understand what I did." Roman froze instantly the moment he heard that. He slowly turned around to see Virgil wiping his tears away as he shrugged. "Then again what's new? It was stupid to think I could be any help. I just thought... since you were there for me that... I'd try too but... like I said it was stupid."

"Virgil, It's not..." Virgil flinched at Roman voice making the other tense with worry. "Look, I'm sorry ok? I really am. I just... I can't."

"Can't what, Roman?" Virgil glared over at the man as he took a step back. "Can't continue the charade of giving a shit? Or can't let someone in?"

"I can't be around you, right now." Virgil's eyes went wide as Roman took another step back. "Not right now. Not when I'm like this. I'm sorry... I told you we all had our issue."

"You included." Roman nodded as Virgil sighed sadly. "Ok."

"What?" Virgil smiled sadly as he walked over and hugged Roman tightly. The man literally melted into the embrace despite every fiber in his being telling him to pull away. Virgil just laughed as he squeezed a bit and pulled away. Roman held back the whine as he forced himself to look up at Virgil who nodded.

"I forgive you. I don't know what you have to deal with. I don't know what is going on in that head of yours. So... If you say you can't be around me right now then... I'll try to understand. I still don't know why you got so angry but... I'll give you a pass on that to." Roman just stood there stunned as Virgil hugged him again. Virgil could feel how this time Roman tensed up bad. Roman even went so far as to push Virgil away but he couldn't do it. Virgil sighed sadly as he let go and walked off to the table leaving the older stunned. Virgil just shot the man a look noticing he hadn't moved yet. "So... You gonna leave or what?"

"Oh, uh... yeah, right." Roman frowned as he forced himself to move away as he nodded. "I am sorry, Virgil."

"Yeah, yeah... whatever. Now get out of here, Princey." The soft giggle from behind him literally set Roman blood ablaze as he smirked softly.

"As you wish, emo nightmare."
