"This place is... big." Roman watched as Janus glanced around at everything with this 'judgemental' look in his eyes. "How the heck does Thomas owns this?"

"Technically, I do."

"Technically, you're a liar." Roman's eyes flashed as Janus rolled his eyes. "The place is called Thomas Sanders's Home for the Trouble'd... Not, whatever the fuck your name is."

"Roman. My name is Roman Sanders. I'm Thomas's cousin... and yes, this is my home. I allowed him to house people here instead of his own because I had more rooms then I could deal with."

"You 'allowed' him?" Roman frowned as Janus rolled his eyes. "Sounds pretty selfish, if you think about it."

"I'm sorry. That... wasn't how I-I meant it." Roman bit his lip as he tried to calm himself down. Thomas had informed him of this. Janus was a very guarded man. He lashed out with sarcasm and uses aggression as a wall. He's just scared that's all. There's no point in getting worked up. "Many of our housemates have gone out today to give you some time to get adjusted so you don't have to worry about anyone bothering you right now."

"You say that but you're still here." Roman looked away with a small nod as Janus took in the living room.

"Unfortunately someone is always on welcome detail. I can show you to your room though and them I can... Please don't touch that." Janus froze as Roman's voice cracked. Janus had picked up this small little ornate box with the name 'Prince' carved and painted in gold. He shot Roman this confused look as Roman tensed seeing Janus closely look it over. "Janus, please... Just put it back?"

"If you didn't want someone to touch it... why have it out like this?" Roman bit his lip as his hands shook with worry. "It's just a stupid box anyway. What do you have in it?"

"Nothing, just... Janus please... DON'T!" Janus nearly dropped it as he went to open it making Roman yell out. "Put it back." Janus's eyes narrowed as he scoffed and shook his head. "Please? It's mine and I asked you not to touch it."

"Your's huh? Thought your name was Sanders."

"It is..."

"You just one selfish man aren't you?" Roman froze up entirely as Janus opened it with a glare. "It's nothing but a stupid locket. Why would you cause such a big deal over something worthless... a petty knick-knack. Honestly, you wouldn't even his 5 bucks for something like that."

"I asked you not to." Janus laughed as he basically tossed the box back onto the mantle not even caring about the pictures he could have knocked down. "Why?"

"Because... One, you not my boss. Two, I don't like you. Three, if something means so much to you do not put it where people can get to it and then yell at someone to not touch it." Roman clenched his fists as his anger burned through him. "Pretty selfish if you ask me..."

"I'M NOT SELFISH!" Janus jumped back seeing the anger in Roman's eyes as he the other tried to hold himself back. "I'm not... This is my home. I'm letting you all stay here out of the kindness of my own heart... The LEAST I ask of you is to not touch my shit. That box is off-limits."

"You're not. My boss. Get off your high horse, dude. I don't have to listen to you." Roman crashed instantly as his mind pulled him under, that familiar laughter daring him to argue. Janus just laughed as he grabbed the box again and walked over with a dark smirk. "If you're oh so protective of it... Then put it up." He pushed it into Roman's chest, who didn't even blink as it felt to the floor. Janus stopped dead seeing it drop and this sinking feeling filled his chest. "Oh, shit."

"It's ok." Roman muttered as his eyes slowly met with the box on the floor. "It's nothing important." He carefully picked it all up with this dull look in his eyes as he smiled over at the clearly guilt-ridden man. "I'm sorry for bothering you. You're right. I shouldn't have gotten so angry over it. To lay any claim to anything is a selfish act. No one likes someone who's selfish."

"Wait. I... I'm not... No. Damn it. I didn't go to far." Roman just turned away and started to leave as Janus silently freaked out. "I'm sorry."

"Whatever for?" Janus's eyes filled with horror as Roman just shrugged. "You were right. I made a big deal over something that isn't important. I was in the wrong. It's fine, Janus. Now, if you'll excuse me... I'm going to mother's locket up now... like you suggested."

"WAIT!" Roman just left ignore the frantic apologies from behind him. He simply gripped the small box tightly as he walked right passed the only other person here... Virgil. Virgil's eyes narrowed in concern as he spotted Janus in the hall looking guilty and scared.

"Jan?"

"Virge?" Virgil nodded as Janus ran over slamming him into a hug. "Virge... You're here? I didn't know... I... Virgil, I fucked up. I totally meant to hurt him. I have no idea what I did."

"Who? Roman?" Janus nodded as Virgil pulled away with a frown. "It's ok, Jan. I know you never mean it. It's something you'll have to work on."

"I know but right now... Right now I'm not  worried about the man that just walked away from me."

"Jan, It's ok. I'll handle it." Jan shook bad as he stepped back with a worried nod. "He's probably just a bit angry. He's get's that way sometimes."

"He didn't seem angry. He seemed... triggered." Virgil's eyes went wide as his heart broke.

"What exactly did you say to him?" Jan shrugged as he tried to work through his thoughts.

"I totally remember everything. I think I just called him selfish a bunch of times. Told him to get off his high horse."

"Oh fuck..." Virgil swallowed his pain as his heart broke. He took Janus's hands and smiled softly as he tried to help calm his old friend down. "Jan, why don't you go sit in the living room. We should really talk anyway. Just... let me take care of Roman first ok?"

"Yeah, whatever you say, Virge. Just... Tell him I'm sorry. I didn't mean to set him off."
