"Wait, what?" Roman stood there beaming as Virgil rolled his eyes from the couch. It had been a while since Roman and Virgil started dating and things weren't that different between them. Well, actually things were a lot different. They were spending as much time together as they could save for when roman had to 'leave'. Roman never truly explain why he had to leave but he didn't shut Virgil out. Often times during those moments Virgil would video chat or text him. And depending on how 'bad' Roman was at the moment he would often respond... unless busy.
Things were actually going pretty well. Other than those very heated makeout sessions that sent Roman spiralling and in his room for several hours, neither would change a thing. Roman and Virgil were genuinely happy together, even if they both kept it a secret from everyone else. Roman stated he didn't want the other making him out to be a bad guy, even if he's already told Virgil about his 'reputation'. And Virgil... Well, he was still kind of expecting it to blow up in his face, despite Roman proving many times over he was NOTHING like Marcos.
It didn't matter much though, everyone noticed how close those two had gotten. Just like everyone had noticed how close Logan and Remus got during that whole 'princey lockdown' that happened. Neither one would ever admit to it but they all knew. After all, Logan lets Remus touch him. Logan's let Remus make him food. Logan doesn't let anyone but Roman do that but here was Remus doing the same and more. You couldn't even imagine the smile Remus has whenever the logical one walks into the room. It's clear they're together. Even if they don't fully know themselves.
"We're getting another housemate." Patton beamed as he held up a picture from his phone. "Thomas said he's going to be a bit of a handful, especially to understand but..."
"Jan?" Everyone clammed up as Virgil limply pointed to the phone. "That's Jan. Janus Everstin..."
"You know him?" Virgil nodded as he shot Roman a small smile.
"Yeah? He was my friend in high school. Massive trouble maker back then. Pretty much skipped every class he could and was a wiz as sneaking cigarettes and alcohol onto campus." Everyone paled as Virgil just sat there smirking. "That man was literally the king of the school, had everyone in his pockets."
"So why is Thomas bringing him here?" Logan asked as Remus sat beside him on the other couch. Virgil's eyes darkened as he looked around to see everyone's concern.
"He's not that bad, Guys. He's just... a bit... tough." Roman could see the frustration in his boyfriend as he tried to figure out his thoughts. "He's rough around the edges, I get that but... Guys, he was the one that protected me from all the bully in high school. He's tough but he isn't mean. He's troubled... just like us."
"I understand you might feel obligated to him because of your history, Virgil... But maybe someone like him shouldn't be coming here?" Virgil paled as Logan's voice filled the empty air. "I'm just saying that his habits might cause issues for the other..."
"Someone like him?" Virgil growled causing Logan to clam up as the youngest slowly stood to his feet. "Someone like him."
"Virgil, I don't think..." Virgil held a hand up cutting Roman off as he scoffed.
"What? You mean someone who's parents were drug abused dick wads who cared more about their next high then their son. Someone who went from foster home to foster home until finally ending up with this older woman who wanted him to the perfect grandson ever. That meant straight, proper, and posh..." Remus and Roman both cringed the moment Virgil said straight but Virgil was too pissed to notice. "Do you mean someone who had to fend for himself come the 10th grade because that same woman figuratively kicked him to the curb the moment she found out about his sexuality. Someone who had to do everything for himself and had to figure out a way to make money without being able to get an actual job because no one wanted to hire a boy from his side of the tracks." Virgil stood his ground aggressively as he flared making the others cower slightly. "Do you mean someone who had to lie and steal so much that he couldn't STOP lying just to be able to get enough money to eat because his 'grandmother' only got enough shit for herself and watched everything intently? Do NOT assume to understand a person Logan. It will bite you in the ass."
"Ok. Ok. Ok... Breathe for me, Stormfly." Virgil groaned as Roman pulled him in gently rubbing circles on his back to help calm him down. "I'm sure Logan regrets having said that. I'm certain Thomas wouldn't have offered him to come here if he couldn't benefit somehow. Everything is going to work out ok?" Virgil hummed quietly as he nodded and leaned into the older. "That's it. There you go, Virgil."
"Roman?" The older frowned slightly in concern as Virgil mumbled under his breath. "Can we talk in the room please?"
"Talk or..."
"Talk talk." Roman's eyes went wide as he nodded with a bright grin. Virgil chuckled softly as he laced his fingers through Romans.
"We'll be back. Virgil just wants to talk." Roman could feel his heart already beginning to race as Virgil started to lead him off.
"Ok, Kiddo's. We'll go over the welcoming then with you later?"
"Sure thing, Pat!" Roman called out as he stumbled a bit only to laugh as Virgil just tugged his arm more. "Virgil, I..." Virgil spun around and pulled Roman in the moment they reached Virgil's room. They hadn't even opened the door yet but that didn't matter to the two of them. All that mattered was the other in their arms. "Virgil."
"Come one, Princey. I told you I wanted to talk." Roman smirked softly as Virgil slowly opened his door. "So... Let's talk." Roman flushed as he literally pushed the other in melting at the giggle he made as the door was shut and locked.
"Let's..."
