Zhang Yixing || EXO, Solo || Ghost!AU

It's like a part of you is missing, Yixing's jersey wrapped around you, still smelling of him but his warmth no longer there; several days was all it took for nearly every trace of him to be erased from your life - other than the memories.

You don't know what had happened, it had all happened so fast and yet, the memory only plays in slo-mo.

The car came out of nowhere, crashing into the driver's side, killing him instantly but not you. Why not you? You screamed into the night, you screamed for days about how you would trade places but no, you are still here to remember him while Yixing is no longer anywhere but in your heart.

But heartache can cause people to do crazy things.

You repeat the incantation, placing everything in the bowl and setting it alight. You didn't think you would ever do this, summoning a spirit but you needed to see him, hear him and more than anything - you needed closure. There's a gust of wind, blowing out the five candles surrounding the bowl and for a moment, everything is completely still.

It takes a while before you feel a cold chill on your shoulder, you lift your head to see a transparent form of Yixing standing behind you with a sad smile on his lips. "Y/N," his voice comes from everywhere around you and you realise it's not as warm as you remember. "What have you done?"

"I-I..." You're taken aback by his question; shouldn't he be happy that you'd go to such lengths? "I needed to say goodbye, I needed to see you again. Was that so wrong?"

He nods, the motion crushing you inside. "What you've done is dangerous, I was happy, safe but here," he looks around him, "this isn't where I'm meant to be."

"You're meant to be with me," you yell, standing up quickly and suddenly angry, "you were taken from me and even if you are happy, I'm not." There's a moment, a cold, tension-filled moment before Yixing takes a step towards you, holding out his hand.

"Then join me."
