He didn't know how to take the news, how to accept the fact that it wasn't him that you ran to but his best friend, Baekhyun. A tight predicament and you had called someone else instead of him when he would have been there in a heartbeat - even if it was three in the morning.

"I told you I'd do anything for you," he looked at you but you couldn't look him in the eyes, "I always told you that no matter what, I would be there, I would come when you called and I would always care for you."

Sighing, you finally look at him; you didn't know what you expected when you looked at him but you didn't expect him to look so heartbroken. Chanyeol and you had something special, something that couldn't be put into words because the emotions that you shared were so powerful that you couldn't even begin to describe them.

But life happens and sometimes, things don't work out the way we want them to.

"I can't rely on you anymore, Chanyeol." Using his full name instead of the nickname you gave him, makes his heart clench in his chest, "it's over between us and we both have to accept that. I can't keep running to you when I need help, I can't keep thinking you'll be there every time I call because that isn't fair on either of us."

He sniffs, trying his best to stop his tears from falling but knowing that it's too late when he feels the wet trail down his cheeks, "life isn't fair, Y/N. If it was then we would still be together; we don't have to destroy everything we had because of this."

He speaks like it's not a big deal, like the decision his company made didn't kill you on the inside.

"We don't have to destroy everything we had but it's better to let it go because we both know we can't go back to what we were," you turn your back on him, tears travelling down your face as you decide to say goodbye to the man you love for the last time. "Goodbye, Chanyeol. I'll always support you."

And without another word, you're gone, leaving Chanyeol alone in the apartment you once shared before his fake relationship was announced.
