You sit and listen to what he says with the notepad on your lap, scribbling notes on what he said as he stares at the rough but you know he's looking beyond it. You aren't sure what he's visualising behind those deep brown eyes but you know that whatever it is - it's taking him beyond wherever he currently is now.

Chanyeol pauses, a tear sliding down his cheek as he gets to the point of the story that has caused him to end up on your couch. "What happened, Chanyeol?" You coax softly, leaning forward a little bit because he's the most interesting case you've had since coming to the hospital.

"We were all laughing, clinking beers at the bar and celebrating how Jongin just proposed to his girlfriend; he had asked us all to be his groomsmen and we were all so happy for him." A sad smile plays on his lips as he fixates on how he felt in that moment, "it was like things were finally looking up for all of us, we had all worked so hard to get to this point in our lives and it was finally starting to pay off."

"But, that's not why you're here," you point out and Chanyeol shakes his head softly and tries to swallow the lump in his throat.

"Everything was finally falling into place and when the clock struck 12, I was erased from their memories." There it is, the reason he ended up here because he had caused a scene and every time he tried to explain what had happened to him, that it was some kind of spell that caused them to forget him. "They all looked at me like I was a stranger, some random who just joined them and even when I was talking about stuff that we had done - they remembered it all but not me being a part of it."

"Well," you place your notepad on the table and look at the time, "hopefully in a few days, we'll be able to know a bit more, maybe your memory will be able to fill in some of the holes from earlier in the night." Chanyeol sighs, sitting up and nodding in agreement.

You bid him farewell and sit down at your desk to type up the notes. He's a special case, you've never met another like him but there's some holes in his story despite how his accurate the stories about his 'friends' are.

Three of them died two years ago.
