It's been a while since you felt this way, years even, that unfamiliar gut-wrenching feeling of dread that sits in the bottom of your stomach and curdles anything you attempt to eat.

There's no chemistry between them. You try to convince yourself as you watch your boyfriend performing a duet with the most beautiful woman you have ever seen.

She is everything you're not and the way they look at each other makes that sickening feeling rile up and you want to vomit.

You actually might vomit.

Late nights practicing with her for a month before this stage and you keep telling yourself to trust him, he loves you, he would never do that.

But as you watch them perform...

Jongdae comes home late and smelling like alcohol and some form of fruity fragrance.

"Y/N." He whispers as he slips into bed, his hands already wandering over your presumably sleeping body.

But you're not asleep.

"Dae?" His hands stop immediately at the tone of your voice. You squeeze your eyes shut to push away the nerves.

You need to ask this. They say a woman's gut is barely wrong.

And boy, do you pray they are wrong.

"Have you ever lied to me?" The silence that is present in the dark room suddenly becomes stifling and that should be all that you need but you need to hear it - from him.

"Y/N..." You can already hear it on his tongue, the words he wants to say but can't because he's an honest drunk. He sighs heavily. "I'm sorry." You feel your heart breaking, the muscle itself actually constricting at those two words.

"It's her, isn't it?" You can almost hear his head nodding and the tears you've been holding back all night, silently fall down your face and dampening the pillow under your head.

"I never thought it would happen, she's nothing like you and I didn't want her but-" you can't stop the sob that escapes your chest, "I said I would never love anyone like I love you but I lied because I'm falling for her." You roll away from him, pulling the blankets up to your chest and the sobs become unrestrained.

Feeling him leave the bed, you can hear him stop by the door and taking a deep breath before landing the final blow.

"I love you, Y/N but I don't think I'm in love with you anymore."

With those words, Jongdae left and took every piece of your heart with him, shattering it as he walked out the door and headed for the shared EXO dorm.

Leaving you to pick up the pieces alone.
