Spiders.
You are deathly afraid of them.
And this little shit of a child decided it would be a great idea to show off her pet tarantula at the family party.
So that's how Baekhyun, your best friend, finds you; crying and cowering in the corner of the room while your niece laughs at you.
"Oi!" He yells, startling her from her reign of terror. "Why don't you leave her alone before I make you cry huh?" Your niece pokes her tongue out at you.
"You can't do anything, old man!" Baekhyun feigns hurt as he bends down to her level.
"I'll take your precious pet spider and feed him to the birds; while you watch." He grins while your niece, not wanting to risk the threat, runs away.
"You didn't have to be so mean, Baek." You sniff, finally looking up as the tears stream down your puffy cheeks.
"Sorry I'm protective over the things I love." You blush as he admits it so freely, you try to smile but it looks out of place on your red, tear stained face. "Any way, what happened?"
"She scared me." You look away, embarrassed.
"She's 6, how can she scare you?" He tries to keep his amusement hidden but you can see the hint of a smile on his face.
"Her-her spider." You sniff, wiping your nose. "I'm terrified of spiders." Baekhyun chuckles slightly before pulling you into his arms, comforting you.
Spiders.
You hate them with a passion.
But you admit, you love Baekhyun.
