Kim Jongdae || EXO, EXO-CBX, Solo || Dragon!AU

You watch as Jongdae tries to teach his dragon how to sit, holding the raw meat above his nose and moving his hand forward, like you would do with a dog; though instead of sitting, the little dragon decides to jump and snap his jaws at his owner's fingers. Jongdae yelps and scolds the dragon while you sigh heavily, shaking your head.

"I married an idiot," you groan when the dragon burns Jongdae's finger and almost sets the table on fire, "you can't train a dragon like a dog, Jongdae."

He huffs, pushing the remaining food towards the fiery lizard and plops his head onto the table, "how else are you meant to get them to behave?"

You shrug before standing up to do the dishes. Jongdae got the dragon as a pet when it was still an egg and they have formed a pretty strong bond since it's hatched but dragons are uncontrollable beasts, unlike unicorns or Cerberus dogs. These creatures are difficult to train and mostly learn on their own but no, your husband has decided that he wants to try and treat his dragon like it's a domesticated dog.

Though, trying this almost burns your house down every time.

"Just let him be," you yell over your shoulder when you hear him cry out in pain again, "you need to stop aggravating because it's annoying taking you to the hospital every other day for burns."

You hear Jongdae get up from the table, his pet roaring and the light flapping of wings as it follows, "I just want him to learn to be safer inside," Jongdae wraps his arms around your waist, hands caressing your belly. "When the little one comes, I want there to be no incidents."

There is no helping the smile that spreads across your lips at the thoughtfulness of this man. Of course, that's his goal, to make your house safe for your twins to live in.
