Chapter 22: five years later

Finnick pov

Two weeks until Snow tell everyone what this quarter quell will be. I wake up to see Annie reading a book next to the window, I see the title of the book, it's 'How to kill a mockingbird' I've never read it. Annie looks up at me and says,

"Well, look who's up? It's about time. It's one o'clock already."

Oh no. Its one! I have to be somewhere before they close,wich is in half an hour! I actually fall out of bed and hear Annie yell,

"Finn! Are you ok?"

"Yeah I just need to get to a place before they close." I run into the closet and put on a long sleeve shirt and jeans. I run out and puton sneakers, but nice ones and kiss Annie then run to that store in five minutes.

"How may I help you sir?" Asks a young woman wearing a button down shirt and a skirt. She has black hair and grey eyes. She looked like she used to be from the seam in district twelve.

"Yes. I am looking for a very nice engagement ring." She sees one and takes it out and shows it to me. It has four tiny diamonds in the shape of hearts in a row, with what looks like tiny waves on it, and in the middle a large ocean blue diamond. In other words, it was perfect.

"Yes I'll take that one. How much is it?"

"$249.99, but don't worry mr.Odair it's on the house."

"Thank you. Thank you so much." She rang me up and put it in a small bag and gave it to me. I thanked her again once more and left. I hid it by giving it to Mags who smiled and said, "Good luck." I thanked her and huged her and left. Annie and I spent alot of our time with Mags. She was half my family. I get to the beach and start to set up. I go back a couple of hours later and got the ring. I started to get nervous. What if she said no? I get into the house and tell her to wear something extra fancy. And she did. She came right down the stairs wearing an ocean blue strapless dress and matching flats. Then I realize she was also wearing the bracelet and necklace. I haven't seen her wear those since the games. I must look like I'm drooling becouse she gets closer and asks,

"Finn, are you ok?"

"Yeah, you've never looked more beautiful." I start to dee her blush. Then she lets me blindfold her and take her to the spot where we remet before her reaping.
