Chapter 36- My Brother keeps a dictionary in his bag

"...And so fellow graduates. Today is the official day of the end of our childhoods and the start of something new. We part ways today, close door and tomorrow we shall open new one, and make our way into the world with precious memories as our reminders of the days we walked Mancheston High School." Danny finished his Valedictorian speech and the entire courtyard burst into applause. I clapped along and he shook hands with Mrs. Fitzmaurice and some of the teachers before making his way down the stage with his diploma.
They handed out the diplomas to the students, calling out each name one by one. It was excruciatingly long and considering it was June 20th and one of the most excruciatingly hot days of the year, I was dying in the heat.
"I now pronounce this class as the class of 2014!" Mrs. Fitzmaurice declared and the entire group cheered, throwing their caps in the air with a whoop.
I met Danny by his car later, after all of the ceremonies were finished and smiled proudly at him.
"Hello, high school graduate," I whispered and he laughed, scooping me in his arms and kissing me deeply. "Well, that's one way to say hello," I whisper once we break apart.
"Hello," he replies back simply placing me on the ground.
"Hello," I say back biting my lip.
"If one of you say hello one more time, I swear to god I will get a dictionary and write down every other greeting on earth and forbid you from saying hello," Mikey states flatly and I whack him lightly on the back of his head.
"Hello, Mikey," Danny jokes teasingly and Mikey takes out the dictionary in his bag.
My brother keeps a dictionary in his bag, should I be proud or worried?
"It's okay, Mikey. You don't have to actually write down every synonym for 'Hello' he was just teasing," I stroked Mikey's hair softly and he sighed, putting the dictionary back into the bag.
"So where are we going?" I ask Danny as we drive down the street.
"My mum planed this big barbeque with a bunch of our friends and the football team, so we are going to go there, it's casual so you'll be fine," he said and I nodded, tugging the hem of my skater dress over one of my barely visible scars before Danny reached out, grabbing my hand and kissing my fingers gently. "Stop that." He instructed and I sighed, dropping my skirt and pulling his hand in mine.
We rode the rest of the ride to his house in comfortable silence, with Mikey doing some complicated Sudoku puzzle in the back. We pulled into his driveway with at least 40 cars in the driveway and we park, climbing out and making our way into the house. The house is fairly empty and everybody is in the backyard, throwing around footballs and talking. Mikey makes a b-line for the table with the food and Danny hooks his arm around mine. A few football players come up and started chatting with Danny so I went to Mari and Lena who are talking with some girls from our school.
"Hey guys," I greet and they smile at me.
"'Ello, mate!" Mari fakes a British accent with a salute and I shake my head.
"Are we doing British accents today?" I ask and Lena shakes her head
"We are, love. You are not because you suck at accents," she states, shaking her head and repling with her fake accent.
"You're funny."
"I know."
Our banter continues throughout the night, eventually Mr. Mason brings out the barbecue and grills some hot dogs and steaks. Most of the football team and cheerleaders showed up, all eyeing up my boyfriend and practically flashing him.
