{Chapter 30} Apply Ice To That Burn
Fayelynn
"But Fayely!"
"No, Mikey, forget about it!" I say and he huffs
"But-"
"The answer is no, Michael. Don't ask me again," I use his full name to get the point across. "If you think that I'm going to let you go away for a whole weekend with them then you are very wrong, especially to the middle of the woods," Mikey thinks I'm going to let him go Camping with Tommy and Lili for Memorial Day weekend, ha-ha. That's definitely not happening. "Maybe when you are older, I might consider it but taking into account your behavior lately it's most definitely a no," I fix my pony tail and head into the kitchen to make breakfast.
It had been a few weeks since my mental breakdown, now more at the end of May. I guess it was the stress that got to me. It always does. I do regret it, that's the problem with cutting; the high is so short that you don't even realize that you were high until your feeling low. As I promised, I looked at the links to websites that Danny researched.
"Mikey! Come on, you're going to miss the bus," I yelled out and he came grumbling back in, grabbing his backpack. As I was locking up, J.C came sauntering down the hall.
"Ringo forgot to go shopping, can I eat your food?" He asked
"Yeah fine, you know where the spare key is, don't even think about touching the nutella," I say as I usher Mikey into the elevator. J.C nods and heads toward my door.
"Okay, have a good day, be good and watch your mouth. I really don't need to get a call from the principle about you giving her some sass again," I say and he rolls his eyes, getting out of the car. "Hey Mikey?"
"What Fayely?" He grumbles
"I Love you, Mikey-Ikey!" I chime and he smiles
"I love you too Fayely," and with that he disappeared inside the building. I had picked up full time shifts at Delilah's and another couple of shifts at a local coffee house, called Kaylie's Coffee. It was hard to juggle two jobs, and I barely had time for myself but I managed to get by. We would usually hang out at Delilah's or the coffee house and I was almost always working but they didn't mind, and I would usually sit down with them during my break. What sucked the most was that the coffee house was someplace where a lot of kids from school hung out. It was weird, but I could live with it because it paid really well. One such occasion happened when Blake and his pals ended up coming, and I happened to be serving them.
"Hey, what can I get you today?" I asked, not looking up from my pad until I hear that creepy voice that made my skin crawl.
"So this is what you turned in your high school uniform? To work in a coffee shop, surrounded by caffeine high idiots?"
"Well, first off all. We don't wear uniforms, second if there are all caffeine high idiots then why are you here? Wait! Never mind, you are an idiot," I snap right back sarcastically. I hadn't said a word to Blake since that day he showed up on my front door and I wasn't planning to, but that didn't go to plan either.
"Hey baby, did you get my Frappuccino?"
Are you shitting me?
"No, not yet. Help these days is so slow," he replies send me a sly look and I roll my eyes.
"I believe that asked you what you wanted and you never answered," I replied, extremely annoyed.
"Don't talk to my boyfriend like that!" Brittany snapped and I raised my eyebrows.
"Oh, my apologies. You know, I thought your standards couldn't get any lower but I was obviously wrong," I retorted quickly and her eyes widened
"Shut up!" was her smart reply.
