"You know we could've just stayed home, right?" you said, teasing Joshua of how your date went downhill.

" I know but it's our first anniversary and I—" Joshua scoots to the drivers seat. He still felt bad that the restaurant you eagerly wanted to go are now close.

" I want it to be special. " making you smile at his sweet and loving gesture, leaning to place a kiss on his temple.

" It's already been special for me,babe. What matters most is that we're together." you whole heartedly said, Joshua love this  about you how you see the bright and good side through any circumstances. Shutting his eyes feeling your touch, making all the regret and disappointment disappear and replace with joy and contentment.

You're all that matter, Joshua though.

"Let's just order pizza and tuck in the whole night, Joshy."

After that it all happened so fast, you heard a loud honk coming from the other side of the road. Hearing your voice scream for Joshua's voice that made him alert, pulling the car to the other side of the road.

Your eyes widen as your car continues to move and aiming for a hit at a tree. Closing your eyes in fear, hearing Joshua calling out for you then black out.

Joshua's POV

There was a long headache and noise came through me as I tried to open my eyes. I felt myself being lifted up, squinting my eyes trying to remember what happened.

" The other patient, severely injured and loss much blood." I hear another medic called out, without even a second I could feel the throwing up in fear remembering.

"W-Where's Y/N?" my voice almost broke, I tried to move my head to the side but the pain prevents me to do so.

" She's gonna be okay—male patient has regain his conscience."

"I need to be sure she's g-gonna be okay." but then as if the world just stopped, all the pain that continued to make my body weak became numb as I saw you being carried.

"O-Oh my god... " you were lifeless, your head was clothed with blood and eyes kept shut bring the fear out of me.

Third Person POV

After being confined in the hospital, you were still gaining your strength after the car accident. You laid unconscious while Joshua halt beside your bed, sitting on his wheelchair.

"Y/N?" his eyes bloodshot because of crying after regaining his consciousness.

"She'll be fine—" Joshua interrupt the doctor, covering his face with his two hands.

" No—this is all my fault. I should've listened to her. We should've stayed—"

"No one knew that it was gonna happen." the doctor tried to comfort Joshua, but it was hard for him to take it all in. Joshua whimper, pulling his head up.

"Joshua, you're still recovering from the accident. I think you should rest." he rejected the suggestion of the person beside him and reluctantly grabbed your hand.

He is afraid of hurting you, again.

He almost curse, when Joshua felt how different your touch were. It was cold and demeaning, that sends fright to him.

" Baby," Joshua cried. He waited for you to respond, but the long silence just made his heart crack.

"Y/N... I'm s-sorry. I should've protected you. I promised you that..." his mouth were trembling trying to form the words.

"And I-I failed. I failed you." Joshua is crying his heart out, but still your eyes stood shut. His lips brushes your pale and unmoving hand.

Joshua wanted to hold you close, but you were beyond his reach.

"Baby... I promised you that I'll protect you remember? Tell me, that everything is gonna be alright, so that I can protect you once more. Please...I-I won't fail you—" Joshua pleads, blaming himself for everything that you're going through.

"I need you... Please wake up,Y/N. Because you're the only reason why I'm moving and living." the doctor was about to pull Joshua because of his state. When a loud and alarming sound made him call for the other nurse.

"Y-Y/N, please. Don't leave me... J-Just stay... for me."

"Please, I love you. Y/N, I can't bare losing you..."
