It was his idea to go hiking for your monthsary. Joshua hands you his red flasks so that you could drink.

"Thanks babe." Joshua pulls a adorable smile, then continued walking. He's leading the way,searching for the perfect camping site.

But before arriving the site you and your boyfriend needed to cross different adventures to what Joshua's been expecting.

" Y/N, come here." Joshua held your hand and before you even knew it, you two were crossing a narrow bridge.

"I'm not walking there, Joshy."

"Why not?" Joshua turn to you.

"Don't you see how high and frightening below the bridge." it was true, below the bridge is filled with trees and with the looks of the bridge. It's like anytime it would snap and fall along with the people walking through it.

"Baby, I'm here. Just hold on to me okay?"

You were hesitant at first, but gave in.

Joshua stood behind you and walked closely with you. Gripping his hand tightly, Joshua extends his arms forward making his front touches your back.

"I'm really scared! Wait-why is the bridge moving?!" Joshua chuckles at your priceless but yet cute expression.

"I got you alright? Look at the view—"

" I don't want to, it's too scary Joshy. Why did I even—we're gonna die!"

"Y/N we're not gonna die—hey don't stop walking." you two were on the middle of the bridge.

"Y/N let's move there are people behind - wait, are you crying?" your eyes shot through his hazel ones.

"I-I'm not, it's just too—I can't do it, Joshua."

"Hey, we're almost there." Joshua held your waist and he took some steps but you resisted.

"What're you—" as if it's you instinct kicked in, hugging Joshua from behind. He couldn't help but to let out a laugh.

"Seriously, Y/N? If I fall you fall too—"

"Just continue walking, Joshy!" you cried and buried your face to his back, Joshua tighten his hand on your hands clasped on his waist.

"Do you even know how to construct that tent?" you asked while taking few breaths after miraculously surviving going through the bridge.

"Uhuh." Joshua frowns, busy trying to understand the instructions.

"I think I figured it out."

"It's not suppose to—ARGH!" Joshua almost screamed like a kid, when a frog pops out of nowhere.

"What happened?"

"There's a green little slimy repulsive and cringe worthy little dude that hops—"

"They scare the man out of me." you shooed the amphibians away and chuckle.

"How brave of you to go camping when you're scared of frogs."

"What came in your head and decided to go on camping?"

" W-Well, I just thought it would be nice."

"Huh? To think that your wearing an ordinary converse shoes—does your feet hurt from all the walking?"

The two of you laid still inside your tent. Your head resting on his chest while he plays with your hair.

"Seriously, Joshy. Why?" he sighed in defeat.

"I thought that this place would calm and relax us, Y/N."

"I just want us to take a break from the things home—"

"Hey, if it's about the comments that I received, really I'm fine—"

"I know, but it's not just simple comments-it's comments with rudeness and insecurities. And to think some of them are blackmail—"

"Babe, I'm fine with everything. I understand why their like that." Joshua sat up, his hood covering his face.

"But it's not for me..." Joshua breathes, he's reluctant but continued " I think I don't deserve you, Y/N."

"Don't say that—"

" I've been thinking about this these couple of months." it was as if you knew where this was coming from. With a flick you could fear and anxiety fills your chest.

Joshua looked down taking a few deep breaths.

"You gave your all to me and I—"

"Baby, you already gave yourself to me."

"But in the end it's not enough, Y/N." you tried to hold of his hand but Joshua pulled his hand away before you could reach it.

"Y/N, you deserve so much better than all of this hate. You deserve a man to love you everyday. To protect you from all of the bad things in this world, a heart as pure as yours Y/N. Would only end up being hurt because of this world—I myself included in it."

"A-Are you..." your voice trembles, Joshua pulled his hood down. Revealing that he's already in tears.

"Y/N, I know my shortcomings as your partner. But you didn't mind it, though. And I love you for that—"

"Are you breaking up with me?" you couldn't take it anymore and bravely asked.

Joshua went silent, and looked down. He grabbed your hand and place an object in it.

"Y/N, baby, give me the chance to be the man who'll give you what you deserve and protect you with all that I have from this cruel world... To be that man who will love you every single day." Joshua opened the small box, then your eyes widen.
