Chapter Twenty-three - Take Care of Yourself
After Blaine finished his performance of Last Friday Night, and Rachel had suggested we do it for sectionals, Santana hadn't looked very impressed. "So, no concerns about showcasing any other voices this year at the competition?"
"Well, Blaine hasn't exactly been showcased before in the group," I argued back, I was all for the performance.
"Oh, come on, Santana," Schue moaned, "You were featured last year at Sectionals."
"Yeah, I know." she nodded, "And we won."
"Blaine also sang for the Warblers, and won, what's your argument? I wouldn't protest until Berry finds a way to insist she has a solo." I insisted, folding my arms back at Santana. She was my best friend, but that didn't stop me from standing up from what I believed was right.
Santana rolled her eyes at me, "We all know that with Mercedes gone, it's going to be the Blaine and Rachel show. Yay," she said sarcastically, "you all know it's true. Noted, good to know." she then walked out of the room.
"Thank you, Santana." Schue sighed, just as the school bell rang.
"Do you have a problem with Blaine?" I stood in the door frame of Finn's room that night, where he had sat on his phone before bed. He shook his head but refused to say a word. "Come on Finn, you look so unimpressed whenever he opens his mouth in Glee Club?"
"I just don't want him expecting all of us to dance around him at Sectionals," he explained, the bitterness on his voice.
I sighed, "Firstly, that's hypocritical considering that's pretty much what we do with Rachel, who you've never had a problem with, clearly. And, Blaine knows that and as much as he loves the spotlight, he knows his place and he doesn't want to upset anyone." I sat on the edge of Finn's bed. "You're my brother Finn, but not just that you're one of my best friends. I love Blaine and I don't like the idea of you two not getting along."
"You don't understand Poppy," Finn gritted his teeth, "I'm the male lead of the group, and I know he's just waiting to sneak up while I'm down and take charge!"
