Chapter Sixty - Rule the World
I had been just about to walk out the door, knowing that Blaine's 'I'm here' text would arrive on my phone any minute, when my Dad stopped me and called me into the kitchen.
"What is it Dad, Blaine's going to be here any minute," I smiled anxiously, I never liked to keep him waiting, and the quicker we were the more time we had for a quick makeout session before school started.
"Blaine's not coming," Dad informed me, and I was confused, "me and Carole are going to take you in today to school."
I rolled my eyes, "I'm not a kid Dad, I turn eighteen this weekend and I can drive, I'm also literally engaged."
Dad chuckled, shaking his head, "We're taking you in because we also need to go into school."
"I thought we got all of Finn's stuff? And you don't need to come in and get it," I sighed, it was still tricky to talk about.
Dad just shook his head again, "Mr Schuester asked us if me and Carole would like to be chaporones for Nationals."
"Are you serious?" I gasped, "You'll actually get to spend my Birthday with me this year!"
I went in for a hug with my Dad, Carole walking in and smiling as I hugged her too. "And as your birthday present, we thought it may be nice for all of us to stay in Los Angeles, for a few extra days."
"Blaine included," Dad added, making my heart leap.
I brought both of them into a tight hug, "Thank you so much, I love you both."
After Burt and Carole's announcement in Glee Club, Blaine took me aside, "So, I suppose you heard about your birthday gift."
"Of course you were in on it the whole time," I rolled my eyes playfully, "I should have known better."
"We can celebrate your birthday and our Nationals win under the hollywood sign, a picnic and a bottle of champagne," he winked, and I just wanted to be there already.
We stopped at his locker and I cuddled up to his side as he sorted through his books, just feeling an overwhelming desire to be close to him. "You make me so happy, I have absolutely no idea what you've gone through with Finn and you're Dad's cancer but here you are, smiling away as happy as ever and it warms my heart."
