Epilogue

We stood at the edge of the stage, Blaine's arm wrapped tightly around me with Rachel beside us, who had been excitedly watching on. It was Nationals, and the New Directions placed top three. Schue had been standing up with them, and I exchanged a quick glance with Kitty who had been nervously squeezing Skylar's hand as they awaited the result.

We were lucky that they held Nationals in New York that year, as we didn't need to travel to watch the team perform. It was amazing seeing everyone again, and even though we had visited the Glee Club every time we returned home to see our family, it was never for too long.

The year had been wild, to say the least. Following a month long honeymoon in Cancun we were quick to move into our place in the city, a place we could finally decorate to our own liking. I had learnt that Blaine had a good-eye for Interior Design, and with help from Kurt our place soon felt like the home I always dreamed of. In March we spent a lot of time in the studio, and my year off had allowed me to come in and assist with the songwriting, as well as some backup vocals. They were some talks of recoding my own record, though following the stress I was under doing both Broadway and school, I decided that would be a project for after my education.

Blaine seemed to be in a similar position, questioning whether a return to education was an option for him. Though I shook my head, and told him he had something incredible ahead of him. Truthfully, he didn't need to be taught much more, he had the voice, the talent and the drive.

The album was due to be released the day after Nationals, so we were lucky enough to convince the New Directions to stay one more day. All we needed was a Nationals victory for a double celebration.

So when their names were called, and confetti danced onto the stage with hugs and cheers, laughter and tears, everything truly was falling into place. Even more so when we later heard the news that McKinley would become a school for the arts, and the Glee Club could never be silenced again. Especially given Schue would be principal.

I was carefully lacing up Blaine's tie the next night, staring deeply into my husband's deep, hazel eyes as I did so. He was observing me, he had been all night. Every little touch, every little movement, like he wanted to take it all in and savour every moment. It was something he did from time to time, often accompanied with a smirk as he silently watched, and since he had explained it to me the other night, I had been even more perceptive of these moments.

"There you go, now you look like a bestselling musician," I grinned, stepping slightly back to look at him.

"Not yet," he assured me.

"Exactly," I grinned widely, "not yet."

The night meant a lot to him, more than he was willing to let off to anyone but me. June, who had been in London for the past year or so, was returning just for the night, as well as bringing plenty of her high class friends and associates with her. I had invited Blair and Serena, and they were able to provide a buzz along the younger Upper Manhattan community with their friends. I mean, the event even got a gossip girl mention. Not only that, but everybody we loved would be there. My Dad and Carole had flown out, Pam and her latest boyfriend, even Cooper was going to be there. Not only that but with everyone from Glee, it was going to be one hell of a night.

"This weekend has been amazing, first Nationals, then this, and then tomorrow," Blaine finally spoke up, still staring intently at me.

I furrowed my brows, "Tomorrow?"

"Your birthday silly," he giggled, and with everything going on, I had completely forgotten. The fact that he remembered despite everything happening was pretty adorable, though.
