Chapter Seventy-Six  - Call It What You Want

POPPYFunny
Did you hear that?
Funny
Yeah, the guy said"Honey, you're a funny girl."
That's me
I just keep them in stitches
Doubled in half,And though I may be all wrong for a guy,
I'm good for a laugh,
I guess it's not funny,
Life is far from sunny,When the laugh is over
And the joke's on you,
A girl ought a have a sense of humor
That's one thing you really need for sureWhen you're a funny girl
The fella said "A funny girl"
Funny
How it ain't so funny,
Funny girl

"Congratulations!" Sideny exclaimed, clapping as I came off the stage, hugging me before the rest of the cast could.

I was smiling brightly, "Honestly, the past six months, they've been incredible, thank you so much everyone!"

"Broadway is going to miss you," The actor of Nick Arnstein, "New York will never be the same."

I chuckled at the compliment, "I won't be long, I couldn't stay away any longer if I tried."

Just as I finished speaking, I was handed a bottle of prosecco. I popped it open loudly, taking it to straight to my lips when the fizz rushed out. "I've got three limousines waiting, this night calls for a celebration."

I smiled, stopping to take a few pictures before getting into the car with my castmates. I sighed as I lounged on the velvet seats. "I am a free woman!"

"I've never seen someone so relieved to leave Broadway, and by choice," One of the actors commented.

I shook my head, "I feel physically and emotionally drained, I've got to a one month vacation in Greece booked and then I'm going to figure some things out at home. Get back into writing, you know?"

"Going alone?" Someone winked.

"I'm going with my best friend, Sam, he's never been to Europe so it'll be a fun adventure."

The actress chuckled suggestively, "The ex-male model Sam?"

I laughed in disbelief, "That ship has long sailed, he's my best friend."
