Chapter Thirty-Seven - It's Always A Good Time

"A big congrats to all our prom nominees!" Schue clapped, beginning our Glee lesson. Within the group, Brittany, Santana, Quinn and Finn had all been nominated for Prom King and Queen, which was pretty good considering we were meant to be the lowest of the low in the Glee Club. "But, hey, listen up. We are all winners because Principal Figgins asked New Directions to sing again this year!" Mr Schue seemed ecstatic about that news, though everyone else wasn't too impressed, "Come on!" There were a few cheers, though not many. "Alright! Brittany has an announcement."

Brittany stepped forward, bopping as to the soft applause. "Hello, my fellow Americans," she began, "and Poppy and Rory."

"I'm American," I stated under my breath.

"Not very convincing love," Blaine whispered to me in his own British accent, causing me to elbow him softly in the chest.

"The theme for this year's prom will be..." Brittany continued, before tapping her feet to sound like a drumroll, "Dinosaurs."

"Sheer genius," Santana declared before anyone could question.

"I was inspired by the new girl Joe," Brittany smiled, nodding to Teen Jesus, "who reminds me of a cavewoman. The refreshments will be berries, meat and rainwater." I looked around, noting the shocked and bewildered looks on everyone's faces, "As you are no doubt aware, the US elections are riddled with corruption. Therefore, to keep the prom elections completely aboveboard, I have appointed Santana and Quinn to count the ballots."

"What? That makes no sense!" Kurt exclaimed.

"Shut it, Richard Simmons," Santana sharply hissed back, "Yes, Quinn's my homegirl, but I don't trust her and you know she doesn't trust me."

"We'll keep each other honest," Quinn explained.

"You know," Mercedes commented, "it's actually not a bad idea."

"And last but not least," Brittany finished, "all hair gel has been banned from the prom."

Blaine instantly laughed sarcastically, "Right."
