Chapter Twelve - Don't You Want Me
"So did we ever really get an assignment for this week?" I asked Santana, walking out of the choir room.
"Nope, I think the week will just consist of Sam continuing the Bieber, Rachel will probably perform some diva anthem, maybe Mercedes as well. Then since Sue's here I bet she'll be forced into some kind of performance." Santana commented, and I nodded. It seemed about right.
And watching the week pass, she had never been more right. We had seen a diva-off between Rachel and Mercedes and a group number with Sue, it was almost expected. It had been Thursday and I thought I'd spice things up. I had approached Sam by his locker, "So I know you're all wrapped up with the Bieber thing, but any chance of helping me out on a number with Finn?"
"So, since we've been thinking of anthems this week, Poppy's prepared a little anthem of her own." Schue said during rehearsal, and I had gone to the front.
I knew what I was doing was a bit silly, and was never going to be considered for Regionals, though it would be a laugh worth it. "So when I think of anthems, I think of one of the biggest football songs in England. This track had the power to bring together everyone, even when we weren't doing very well. It's about pride and battling through ridicule and hate, so I think it's something that we could relate to. If you'd join me, Sam and Finn."
I couldn't believe what I was about to do, but it was about time that I brought a bit of a British twist to the Glee Club.
