Chapter Forty-One - Fight for this Love

The first thing I did that Monday morning was to speak to Coach Sylvester about rejoining the Cheerios, so when I made my first triumphant return down the corridors I had been in my Cheerios outfit, the jacket and my white thermals, my hair in its high ponytail. Everybody had looked at me, a familiar face back and stronger than ever. I caught the eye of a particular blonde as I walked back to my old locker, opening my bag and beginning to redecorate it to how it was before.

"Is that a ghost or has Poppy Hummel really returned?" Sam chuckled as he came up to me.

I rolled my eyes, "I was at the Sadie Hawkins' dance but somebody was too invested in whatever they were doing with Blaine to notice me."

"We think we might have just saved Glee Club, all should be confirmed soon but we think the Warblers had been taking steroids." Sam nodded, looking impressed with his discovery.

"Well, I guess it would explain the rage fit they're captain had at the Lima Bean," I shrugged.

"And with you back for Regionals, another Nationals win is basically in the bag!" he exclaimed, giving me a high five.

"I'm not joining Glee Club," I said sternly.

Sam's mouth dropped, "W-what do you mean?"

My lips quickly formed into a smile, "I'm just messing with you," I laughed as he shot me an unimpressed glance. "I've missed you, Sam."

"You too Pops," he smiled, bringing me into a tight hug in the middle of the corridor.

It was later that day when The Warblers' disqualification became official, and our Glee Club had never been more ecstatic as Finn scrawled Regionals on the board. It was odd seeing him at the front and not Mr Schue, though he brought the same energy and I felt somewhat proud of watching him.

"All right, people, we are back!" He exclaimed, clapping his hands together. "First of all, big props to Sam and Blaine for all their hard work to make this happen." We all clapped, I had been on the other side of Sam, who had reached down to give Blaine a bro-fist who sat in front of him. "But, we have something else to celebrate, which is the return of my lovely step-sister Miss Poppy Hummel."
