Seven

"Where's that mortal?" I asks Crow after seeing him cleaning the TV.

He lifted his gaze at me and pointed the door.

"Went for work," he replied and continue wiping the screen.

"Have you told her our mission?"

He immediately stopped wiping and stood up. His eyes are now looking at me in disbelief.

"Hindi mo sinabi sa kanya?" he asks.

I shook my head to answer him. Lalong nag-iba ang mukha niya at halatang hindi nagustuhan ang sagot ko.

"I didn't tell her, it's your job."

"Well, we could make a note for her to read. No need to tell her our escapades." I told him and sat on the sofa.

"We're not going if you're not informing her. Isang buwan tayong mawawala." he said with full of finality.

Napatitig ako ng maigi kay Crow. He's not like this. Usually kapag ako ang nagsasabi sinusunod niya agad. But right now he's defying me.

"But we're leaving," I sounded a bit hesitant.

"We still have hours, the portal can wait." sagot niya at pumunta sa kusina. Sumunod ako sa kanya at kumuha ng tubig. "Go to her workplace and tell her."

"What?! Bakit ako? Ikaw nalang!"

Crow furrowed his eyes at me. Nakakunot ang noo at halatang naiinis na.

"So, sinong papupuntahin mo? Ako? People can't see me, demon. Unless you want me to scare the---"

"Fine! Fine! I'll just change my clothes," I cut him off and left him.

Mabilis akong pumunta sa kwarto ko at nagbihis.

We will be gone for a month dahil gusto kong mapadali ang paghahanap namin ni Crow kay Eight at sa nakatakas na mortal. I already slack a lot and I know Aisthus is being impatient on his throne.

Kumuha ako ng itim na shirt, itim na jeans at jacket na itim para sa susuotin ko. At least I look normal on these clothes. I don't know why it looks weird to other people but wearing black is normal for us, demons.

Pagkatapos kong magbihis ay ginamit ko ang perfume ni Angelus at sinuklay ko ang nahuhulog kong buhok. After preparing myself, I went down the living room and saw Crow watching a movie. He's watching a girl and boy kissing under the rain.

"Acting like a romantic-deep-shit-mortal now, Crow?" I tease him.

He lifted his arm and gave me a fuck you hand gesture. Tumawa ako at binuksan ang pinto.

"Wait, where's her workplace?"

Aalis lang ako bigla na hindi alam ang lugar kung saan pupunta. It will be dumb as shit.

"Just around the corner, three blocks away to your right. Pwede mong lakarin," he answered without taking his eyes off the TV.

Hindi na ako nagsalita at sinarado ko ang pinto. Binuksan ko ang gate at agad iyong ni-lock. Inayos ko muna ang jacket ko bago nagsimulang maglakad papunta kay Angelus.

The sun is shing above my head but it gives me warmth. Cars are passing by with their sirens while facing the traffic. May mga mortal din na naglalakad sa daan at karamihan sa kanila ay papunta sa trabaho. The buildings are very high and I felt very relaxed just by looking at them from afar.

This feeling is very foreign to me and I never thought that I would be doing these mortal things.

After ng ilang minutong paglalakad ay naaninag ko ang lugar na pinagta-trabahuan niya.
