Seven

"He's not a messenger, Bioderm!" Crow countered and stared at Bioderm to convince her.

The old lady lifted her gaze at me again and examined my face. She narrowed her wrinkled eyes down to the papers and I immediately exhaled a soft breathe.

"Here's your ticket pass. Do not lost your tickets kung ayaw niyong mahulog sa tulay. The ticket holders will collect those inside the train. Desmond City was assigned in the sixteenth floor, look for Ginger."

Bioderm handed the tickets to Crow and we immediately stormed inside the gate. The guard inspected our clothes and he took the other half of the ticket. The cold hall welcomed us after we went inside. Some reapers are sitting and some are walking.

"The train will arrive 30 seconds from now, let's go straight to the waiting area," Said Crow.

Tiningnan ko ulit ang ticket namin at nakasulat doon ang platform red. Visitors are allowed to wait there so that the hierarchy of the train will be managed.

"Why is there a color coding here?" I asked out of the blue.

The thick fog beneath the ground is obscuring the whole station. But the colors in the wall are still visible. There are four colors in total : White, Red, Gray and Black.

Black is for ordinary Grimreapers, White is for souls, Red is for visitors like us, and Gray for reapers in higher ranking.

I was actually pretty amazed by the organized hierarchy. All you need to do is to wait for the train to arrive and head inside.

"It's coming," mahinang bulong ni Crow.

After some seconds, a loud honking noise invaded the whole station as the train approached. Napaayos kami ng tayo ni Crow pati na rin ang ibang nagaabang sa ibang color. The train made a squeaking sound before it stopped exactly right in front of us.

The door was opened and an old man wearing black long suit and black hat went out the door and shouted.

"Welcome aboard!"

His ruffled beard stood out as he smile towards us. "A new set of visitors, welcome demons!"

Crow bowed his head kaya ginaya ko siya. The old man laughed and touched his beard.

"You will surely enjoy this ride," he said and went inside.

Sumunod kami ni Crow at pumasok sa pulang pinto sa train. The ambience is very cozy and even the colors inside is also red. The seats are red as well as the floor.

"Relax and enjoy the view. The departure will start in an instant," the old man said and went inside to another door.

This is gonna be my first time to ride this kind of train and I never had any idea about the land of the lost souls.

Crow sat across my seat and rested his head. He looks bored like he lost his interest in this because he had done this a lot of times already.

"We fucking talked to the captain," Crow mumbled and it made my eyes wide open.

"What the fuck?"

I wasn't able to fully grasp myself because the train started moving. A loud honk thundered and I immediately covered my ears.

The train went inside a very dark tunnel before it went outside the whole station.

"We're passing by a bridge," sabi ko kay Crow nang mapagtanto ang bagong lugar na dinaanan ng train.
