ok hi everyone! i wanted to thank you for all of your suggestions on the next book. i will try to get a couple of chapters up today, and i think i'm gonna call it something along the lines of "devil's advocate" since it's mirrored after "oh my god" lol

also, soojin's character in this next book won't be nearly as stupid. this version of queen soojin is just more convenient for this particular story. thanks again for reading all of my books, no matter how bad they are lol

After a ridiculous amount of preparing via Soojin, JYP High's dance team (and everyone else) was ready for the ASC. This year, they were determined to win.

BLACKPINK had already performed their choreography to "kill this love", a song that Soyeon had helped Jennie produce.

(g)idle were next, but they were missing a member. Shuhua was supposed to perform with them; that was the plan since the beginning of the year. However, a lot of stuff had happened since then, and she would be bowing out this time.

Shuhua was on her way to meet the new photographer, when she figured she could at least tell the girls good luck, and that she was sorry for leaving them without much notice.

"Hey guys." Shuhua introduced herself, while Yuqi charged over towards her, engulfing the girl in a hug.

"Shu! I missed you! You've been so busy lately." Yuqi pouted, and Minnie walked over towards the two. She wouldn't just stand there when Yuqi didn't have a smile on her face.

"Yuqi's right. Your photography is on another level lately! You're so talented, Shu." Minnie grinned, while a small smile escaped Shuhua's mouth. She wasn't used to praise.

Just by Minnie's presence, Yuqi's frown formed into a bright smile, her eyes shifting upwards into crescents. The girl was obviously happy.

"I'm sorry for dropping out of the dance, although I don't think it means much." Shuhua responded, and the three korean members walked over towards them, Soojin included.

"You've always meant a lot to us, Shu. Don't downplay yourself like that." Miyeon frowned, drawing circles on Shuhua's back while she softly reprimanded her.

"I was talking about the dance, but yes, that too." Shuhua laughed genuinely, her smile lighting up the room.

It was such a slap in the face to Soojin. She was constantly aware of the fact that she was wrong, but her and Shuhua both knew that her obsession with the way people thought would be a bigger boundary than they both thought.

She wanted to love Shuhua, but she couldn't. Not when she was still trying to fix herself; the younger confident girl deserved way better in her eyes.

"Uhm—-anyways—-I just wanted to wish you guys good luck. You're gonna be great out there!" Shuhua started, and Miyeon started tearing up.

"Minnie, make sure you hit them with your signature dreamy vocals."

"Soyeon, the song sounds amazing. Your producing abilities are god tier, and I know they'll love it!"

"Miyeon, good luck cho rapper! You'll do amazing out there, I know it."

"Yuqi, if you forget the dance, just pull out some daizu. I'm almost certain one of the judges is Chinese, so you'll have his vote!"

The last one was Soojin, who's breathing had stopped temporarily. The other girls were looking at the two, while Shuhua let a small smile creep onto her face.

"Soojin, the choreography is amazing. I'm very proud of you, you guys are gonna do great!" Shuhua said, while Soojin was left with a blush and a bright smile on her face.

Despite all of the pain Soojin had put Shuhua through, the younger girl always remained so mature and understanding. It was one of the many things that Soojin loved about her; Shuhua's intuition was always way above the rest.

"Thank you, Shu. I'm proud of you too." Soojin whispered, while Shuhua's eyes widened slightly. The youngest girl smirked, a guttural laugh booming out of her system.

"I have to go now, girls! I'll see you on the other side!" Shuhua joked, bringing her arm up and saluting to the other girls, who reciprocated her gesture, laughing.

"Please wait for me, Shuhua. You don't deserve this, I'm sorry." Soojin thought, while the younger girl turned her back and left.

Shuhua sighed, looking at the copier that was printing their winter issue. Seeing Soojin had been more difficult than she thought.

Of course, Shuhua knew exactly what the situation was, her maturity was well beyond its years, despite her childish personality.

Shuhua has always known about Soojin's image issues. She can't count how many times Soojin had cried to her about what other people might have thought; Shuhua had always been there for her, no matter how stupid it was.

She just wished that Soojin would open her eyes a little; her mentality is quite normal for girls their age, especially since they're all still in high school, however, Shuhua wasn't a normal girl.

She was always confident, and everyone and their mother knew that. It was written all over her, which is why she's never had any self esteem problems of any sort. She sympathized with Soojin, since she knows that the way Soojin is feeling is common, but at the same time, she also knew that she needed to stop denying herself the pleasure of dating someone else.

If Soojin wasn't ready, she could wait for her. However, Shuhua wasn't sure whether she even wanted to wait for anyone anymore. After all, she was in her senior year, and the time was counting down until they all parted ways.

Ultimately, she wanted to hear this from Soojin. If she admitted to how she was feeling, that would at least give Shuhua something worthwhile to work with. She wouldn't wait anymore if there isn't a point to wait in the first place.

"Did the copier break up with you?" Yeri's voice snapped Shuhua back into reality, as she turned to face her friend.

"Yes, we're printing divorce papers!" Shuhua feigned tears, wiping at the corners of her eye.

"Very funny. Was it actually about Soojin again?" Yeri asked.

"You know me too well. I just talked to her a couple of minutes ago, it was more difficult than I thought." Shuhua sighed, while Yeri felt pity for the poor girl.

"I hate to burst your bubble, but the new photographer is here. I think he brought a friend too." Yeri explained, and Shuhua perked up.

"A perfect distraction. Nice!" Shuhua smiled, and followed Yeri out of the copying room and into the main lab.

Yeri pointed over towards the opposite side of the room where two boys were standing, one in which Shuhua was very familiar with.

"Kuanlin?!" Shuhua gasped, while he smiled.

"Shu!" Kuanlin smiled, tackling the girl into a hug, much to the surprise of Yeri.

"What the fuck is happening?" Yeri asked the other friend of Kuanlin, who shrugged.

"I think they might know each other." He laughed, while Yeri smirked. "Wait till Soojin sees this!"

Shuhua and Kuanlin parted ways, both with bright smiles on their faces.

"That was weird. Anyways, these are the two new additions of our team! You already know Kuanlin, so there's no need for an introduction." Yeri told Shuhua, who laughed. The two of them were always so extra.

The other boy walked over towards Shuhua and Yeri, with his hand extended.

"I'm assuming you already know Kuanlin, huh?" He laughed, and Shuhua nodded, still in shock from seeing someone who she never thought she would see again.

"I'm Lucas, nice to meet you." Lucas extended his hand out, to Shuhua who took it.

"Nice to meet you too, Lucas."
