she needs a friend?

From the entrance of the cafe, Lisa already sees the figure wearing all black sitting at a table at the corner seemed to wander off into his own thoughts. Because of that, she plans to surprise him as she quietly walks to him who is looking at the boring view of the road outside the cafe.

Once she stands next to him, she pushes his shoulder lightly while whisper yelling to his ear, "JK!"

The man turns around and pulls down his black mask upon seeing Lisa. "Yah, is that how you greet your old friend, Lisa-ya?", he asks as Lisa keeps her smile while taking a seat across from him. "Ooh, come on. Chill, I was just playing around with you.", she replies before calling for the waiter to get her order.

Jungkook stays quiet as he drinks his Cola while Lisa is ordering. After the waiter leaves them alone, Jungkook puts his glass away and smiles at Lisa. "Congratulations!", he simply says while Lisa is rolling her eyes at him.

"Yah, you're so boring. You never change, JK.", she says to him.

"What? Oh...I forgot.", he replies before he takes out something from his pocket. A gold medal with number one engraved on it is put on the table close to Lisa's side. "Congratulations on being the number one girl to be a resident at BSH Hospital.", he congratulates her again mentioning her success to get a job as a resident at the private hospital which known to not accept a female resident after a bad history few years back.

Lisa scoffs as she looks at the medal he gave her. "Yah, stop with the number one thing. Don't pressure me like others do.", she says to him.

A smirk shown on his face. "You feel pressured? I think you're the best at what you studied. Shouldn't be a big thing for you to be a resident, right?", he asks.

"Yeah, but everyone is saying you're the first girl resident, you're the chosen one, I feel pressured by that. Can we talk about something else, Jungkook? I'm not wasting my free time meeting my famous friend to get stressed here.", she tells him before her drink and food arrive.

Jungkook nods and pulls down his mask to start eating too.

"What do you want to talk about then?", he asks as he cuts the beef steak into small slices on his plate.

"Hmm...I heard your teammate, Park Jimin got an offer from Australia. Is it true?", Lisa asks and Jungkook giggles at it. As he chews on his steak, he nods to her who proceeds to ask if Jimin will accept the offer.

Jungkook shrugs his shoulders. "He doesn't speak about it with me. But from our agent, he said Jimin doesn't want to go if I don't get an offer from there too.", he tells her who was pouting earlier probably scared that Jimin accepts the offer from a football team in Australia.

"Hmm..if you get an offer from there and he get too, I'd be crying forever. I should've accepted the offer from Monash University and wait for him there.", Lisa says without hiding her crush on Jimin, the midfielder of Seoul FC.

The striker with number 9 who is sitting in front of her chuckles at her words. "You really like him, do you?", he asks her and she smiles widely at him.

"I have a BIIIG crush on him, you know it already.", Lisa admits it easily.

Then, they talk about her crush on Jimin for half an hour as they finish their foods. When they have their desserts, Lisa takes the chance to ask how about him making him giving a questioning look at her. He does not get what she meant by her question.

"How about you? Got a crush on someone? Or you already have someone but you don't tell me, JK?", she asks in detailed.

Jungkook brushes it off with a small smile and says, "What makes you think I have someone or I have a crush? I have neither of them, Lisa."

The girl with bangs shakes her head not believing him. "If you have neither of them, why were you wandering off so much before I get here? Who were you thinking about, Jungkook-ah?", she questions him while pointing her finger at him. Her words make him thinking of what he was doing before she arrived.

She is right. He was thinking about someone. A person who is not his crush or his lover. A girl who is occupying his mind for days now. A confusing girl who he got attracted to without a valid reason.

"Yah! Who are you thinking about?", Lisa asks as she hits the table to get his attention back.

He sighs before answering, "Someone but not like who you thought. She's just...someone...from a park." That is how he described her to Lisa. He is not sure of how to actually address Chaeyoung as to her. He and Chaeyoung are not friends, let alone acquaintances.

"Whoa, who is this someone? How come she invade your mind to make you think of her like this?", Lisa asks for more details on the person her best friend is thinking about.

"She...is a nice girl. She helps people around her but...there is time she gets angry too. She's so fierce when she's angry. But, she's also sweet sometimes.", he talks about Chaeyoung to Lisa like she is someone special to him.

She is nice, he knew that from the first time they met. She helped her neighbour's kid to go home. She is fierce, he knew that from the way she had a fight with her neighbour's husband. She is sweet, he thought that way because of the time she called him 'oppa' even though they might be of the same age.

"Are you sure she's not your lover, Jungkook?", Lisa asks and he smiles a little before shaking his head.

"We're not even close. I mean...I asked to be her friend but we just met once after that. I don't know what to call our relationship is. Friends...acquaintances...I don't know but there's something attracting me to know her more.", he tells her.

"I feel like she's just like other girls but some parts of her is not. You might not get this but I feel like she's being held from something. Like...she's not allowed to do whatever she wants. The first time I met her was at a park during night time. The next time we met, I wanted to give her the bread she liked but she refused to take it. Then, she told me that I'll never see her out at night again. And the last time I met her, she was forced to go inside her house and we didn't get to talk much. She even had to ask if she can have the bread I bought for her. It's like...they control her.", Jungkook explains more.

"Who are they?", Lisa asks.

Jungkook shakes his head. "I don't know. Some said they're her sister and brother. Others said the girl is her best friend and the guy is her best friend's boyfriend.", he tells her.

"This sounds complicated, Jungkook. How did you get into this mess?", she asks further.

Jungkook shakes his head again. "I just felt curious at the park. I never thought she'd be someone I think about like this.", he says.

"So, what now? You want to be a hero to her?", Lisa questions him.

"I just want to be her friend.", he answers without being sure of it himself. "I want to be someone she can talk to and get help from if she needs one.", he adds. "Do you think she needs a friend?", he asks for opinion from the medical grad.

"Well...I don't know who she is that you keep thinking of but you seem to care about her. So if you think you can help her, why don't you try? You already know her name or introduced yourself to her?", she replies.

Jungkook nods, "Her name is Chaeyoung. Park Chaeyoung."
