I am still me

Five minutes after seeing Jisoo left the house to go to work, Chaeyoung goes back into her room wanting to continue her sleep. However, the sound of the bell ringing disturbs her. She throws the blanket off of her and walks to the front door ready to scold whoever it is that is disturbing her beauty sleep time.

She knows it will not be Jisoo since the elder never leaves anything behind before she leaves for work. She knows it will be someone else but she does not know who it is. It could be the mailman or something, she does not care who it is. She is ready to scold that person.

As she unlocks the gate, she lashes out, "You can leave the letter in..."

She stops as she sees the person standing outside the gate.

"Hi...Chaeyoung.", that person waves his hand to her with a smile plastered on his face.

"Jeon Jungkook?", she asks in confusion. She wonders why he is in front of her house at this early morning.

"Uh...yeah, it's me. You...you're Chaeyoung..right?", Jungkook points at her as he asked that question. Since he knew of her disorder, he becomes more careful not to mistake her because it might affect her emotions.

Chaeyoung slowly nods to him.

"Did you...read my message?", Jungkook asks as he raised his phone showing he sent her a message.

"Oh...I...haven't look at my phone yet today. I'm sorry, why are you here actually?", Chaeyoung asks as she points at him.

He looks at himself before answering, "Oh, don't mind my clothes. I'm going to the training camp later afternoon so I come here to take you out for breakfast. Do you want to go?"

Chaeyoung looks away trying to think of a reply. She does not want to sound rude to him even if she will turn down the invite. But, she feels guilty to see him already here in front of her house asking her to have a breakfast with him.

"Um..I'm sorry, Jeon Jungkook. I don't feel like going out today.", she says politely.

"It's okay, then. We just have breakfast at your house instead. I'll cook for us.", Jungkook quickly replies.

His response makes Chaeyoung a bit surprised of him. He sounds so bold to come to her house and even want to cook for her. It makes her feel uncomfortable at this point.

Seeing how her face changes, Jungkook clears her misunderstanding right away. "Please don't get me wrong. I'll be honest to you. I'm actually a bit excited when I read your text when I woke up. You said 'let's be friends' so I...I just want to meet you as a friend. That's why I asked you to have breakfast with me. Don't misunderstand me, Chaeyoung.", he explains.

Chaeyoung thinks about it before she speaks up, "Just a breakfast and you'll leave after that, right?"

A nod and a smile is shown on Jungkook's face as he hopes that she agrees to having a breakfast with him.

Right after he sees the delivery man arrives at the gate, Jungkook runs outside to get what he ordered ten minutes ago.

Chaeyoung who is just walking out of her room looks at his retreating figure going out of the house. She wonders where he is going to so she follows him to the door before looking at the CCTV monitor beside it. She sees him meeting a delivery man with a frown as she waits for him at the door.

Moments later, she sees him walking towards her with a paper bag in his hand. Jungkook does not realize that she is standing at the door as he is excited to show her what he got. Only when he reaches the door, he sees Chaeyoung in a different clothes than he saw her before.

She is wearing a black Pink Floyd graphic tee and a grey Adidas sweatpants as she glares at him. Her face makes Jungkook wonders if he did something wrong or if her other personality took over her at the moment.

"What's that in your hand?", she sounds cold as she asks him that question.

"Oh, this...just...banana milk. Actually, I asked Jisoo noona what you usually have for breakfast. I cooked us some pancakes but I didn't know what you like to drink. She said you like banana milk for breakfast.", Jungkook shows her a set of five cartons of the milk in the paper bag.

Chaeyoung's eyes widened as she looks at them.

"We could just drink plain water. I'm fine with that.", she says as she leaves him behind and walks to the kitchen.

Jungkook follows her before he walks faster passing her as he put the paper bag on the dining table. When Chaeyoung wants to open the stainless steel food cover, Jungkook stops her and says that he should be the one opening it for them since he is the one making breakfast for them.

When he opens it, Chaeyoung's eyes lit up brightly and her smile grows wide as she sniffs the aromatic maple syrup on the pancakes.

"Smells so good!", she makes a remark which Jungkook feels proud of.

After he puts two pancakes on each of their plates, they start to eat and surprisingly both of them are quiet as they enjoy the breakfast together. None of them speaks a word as they both smiling while eating. But, the reason to their smiles...are totally different.

Chaeyoung is smiling happily to have a good breakfast after a while. Meanwhile Jungkook on the other hand, is smiling because of the person in front of him. Her happiness shown on her face makes him blushing hard for no particular reason. He feels like he has succeeded to be a good friend to Chaeyoung.

"Jeon Jungkook!", her shout makes him startled. "I asked you if you want that pancake.", she points at the last pancake on the plate at the middle of the table.

"Oh, you can have it. I'm already full.", he says as he pushes the plate to her side.

Chaeyoung claps and thanks him before she starts to eat the last pancake without realizing the way Jungkook is looking at her. He does not move from his seat and keeps watching her without saying a word. After she takes the last bite, Jungkook opens his mouth.

"You really like pancake, do you?", he asks her.

As she drinks her banana milk, she nods. "I do. You're really a good cook. I haven't had this delicious breakfast for a long time. Thank you, Jeon Jungkook.", she says making Jungkook to blush at her words. It is not like she or Jisoo is not a good cook, but both of them are busy. Plus, Chaeyoung rarely have breakfast if she is left alone at home when Jisoo goes to work.

"Just call me Jungkook, Chaeyoung. We're friends, right?", he asks. He actually feels a bit weird being called with his full name like that. Especially with someone who he regards as a friend.

However, Chaeyoung's happy face changes when he told her that. She looks at her smart watch briefly as if she is worried of something.

"Chaeyoung, is everything okay?", Jungkook asks as he checks the time on his own smart watch.

Chaeyoung does not answer his question.

"Chaeyoung? You can tell me if there's something wrong. I told you we're friends. Friends share stories with each other.", he tells her.

"They will share if they trust each other.", Chaeyoung replies.

Jungkook understands why she said that. "You may not trust me yet but I assure you..I am not the type that spill what my friends told me. You're my friend, well at least I do think of you as my friend. I don't know about you though. If you really meant what you said about us being friends, you should try to trust me.", he tries to assure her to trust him.

Chaeyoung looks into his eyes with somewhat worried and gloomy face. He does not get why she looks like that. He wants to know why.

"I shouldn't get too excited.", Chaeyoung finally speaks up. "When I become excited or too happy, Rosie will come out.", she continues as she glances at her smart watch again.

"Rosie?", Jungkook questions.

Chaeyoung nods, "My other personality. She comes out when I'm in a good mood. Like...really good mood."

Jungkook looks at her smart watch and says, "And that watch...does it help you to see if there's a sign of that personality coming out?"

Another nod is given to him. "I use this to see my heart rate. If it moves up or down rapidly, I might lose myself and let my other personality takes over me. If I see it start moving rapidly, I can try to control myself or maybe not. It depends.", Chaeyoung explains.

"So, you got worried that you'll disappear just now. Is that right?", Jungkook guesses.

"This rarely happens. I am still me and Rosie doesn't come out. I'm a bit worried realizing it.", Chaeyoung says.

"Maybe she's afraid of me.", Jungkook's respond makes Chaeyoung shakes her head before she chuckles at him. "You don't know her.", Chaeyoung tells him. "She's such a nuisance when she's around someone she loves.", she reveals a bit about Rosie to him.

Once again, Jungkook's reply makes Chaeyoung laughs. He says that maybe Rosie does not appear because she does not love him. Both of them have a little laughter at that before Chaeyoung asks him if he is not going to be late for his training.

Then, he realizes that he does have to go before he gathers their plates to be washed. Even though Chaeyoung does not want him to do the dishes, he insists to do it making her give up telling him to let her do it. In the end, she lets him do the dishes as she watches from the table.

After everything is clean at the kitchen, both of them go to the front door and Chaeyoung walks with him to the gate. They bid goodbye and Chaeyoung walks inside her house with a wide smile on her face. She keeps smiling as she watches his car leaving through the CCTV monitor.

"This is surreal.", she says to herself realizing how she can get close to someone in a short time and not doing trouble at the same time.
