speaking of the devil

After the long shower in the morning, Chaeyoung gets ready to start her day as usual with checking her phone for a new job or just read the latest news of the day. However, something else catches her eye before she taps on the website she always checks in the morning. A notification from Jungkook got her attention first when she unlocks her phone.

She opens the message only to see a photo sent by him half an hour ago.

"Hmm?", Chaeyoung frowns as she looks at the photo of Jungkook's selfie with a pouting expression in her phone.

Chaeyoung: Jungkook, are you okay?

She sends the message to him before she thinks why he looks sad in the photo. Not long after that, she receives a reply. She was expecting an answer but he only sends another photo to her. This time, he still pouts but in a different shirt than the one he sent earlier and his hair seems to be wet in the photo.

"Why is he sending his photos to me?", Chaeyoung asks herself as she thinks what is wrong with him.

She does not want to send any more message to him since he is not giving her an answer.

"Oh no, Chaeyoung. You've hurt him.", suddenly a voice talked to her in her mind.

"Rosé?", she asks but the Voice makes a sound of opposition to her. "Rosie?", she asks again.

"Yes, it's Rosie. I know I rarely talk to you, Chaeyoung but you should know it's me talking to you. Now I feel offended that you don't recognize me.", the Voice of Rosie speaks up to Chaeyoung.

A scoff is given to the younger alter ego before she replies, "How am I not confused with you two? Both of you call me Chaeyoung and all three of us have the same voice. You should at least listen to me when I tell you to call me unnie."

Rosie laughs as if Chaeyoung said something funny to her.

"Unnie? No, it's weird.", the Voice says, still stubborn as usual.

"What's weird with it? You can call Jisoo unnie, Jin oppa that way. Why not call me unnie too? I'm older than you, you know?", Chaeyoung raises her voice to it.

"Hmm...maybe because you, me and Rosé are one. Rosé calls you by your name and you do the same too. You call her and me by our names.", the Voice tries to explain herself.

Now it is Chaeyoung's turn to laugh at it before asking, "Unacceptable reason, Rosie. You should obey me but you're really stubborn. Now that I think of it, how could you call Jungkook oppa without him have to tell you what to call him as?"

"Oops, you sounded like you're jealous that Rosie called Jungkook oppa?", the Voice responds to Chaeyoung.

The respond she received makes her quickly denying it, "Jealous? No, I'm not, Rosie. Wait...Rosé?"

Just as she said that name, she hears the laughter of Rosé in her head.

"I can't help to just listen when that young girl said my name.", the Voice speaks up.

Chaeyoung puts both of her hands on her head for the confusion built up in her mind, "Gosh, both of you are confusing me. Please don't put me in trouble, that's all I ask, guys."

Just after she finished her words, her phone rings making her flinched at the sudden noise of that gadget.

"Jungkook?", Chaeyoung says as she sees the name that calls her.

"Ooh, speaking of the devil!", Rosé's voice comes again disturbing Chaeyoung.

"Shut your mouth, Rosé!", Chaeyoung tells before she answers Jungkook's call.
