his side of the story

After the usual good morning wish he sent that morning, he scrolls up to check their previous messages these three days.

Chaeyoung ❤: Sorry I didn't realized your text earlier. Happy New Year to you too, Kookie.

Him: Hey, Chae. 🤗 Have you had dinner? I'm going to have dinner with the shooting team later.

Chaeyoung ❤: Yes, I had dinner with unnie and Jin oppa.

Him: Oh, you're back at your house, babe?

Chaeyoung ❤: Yup, sorry if I didn't tell you earlier.

Him: Hi, Love. What did you do today? I'm sorry I haven't got time to call you. 🙏🏻 Are you busy? Can I call you now? 😬

Chaeyoung ❤: Hi, I'm sorry I'm busy right now. Maybe next time.

Him: Good morning, Chae. 😊 Guess where I am right now. I can't wait to see you on Thursday, Love. 😘

Chaeyoung ❤: Work?

He was smiling to her short guess just now but not again when he read it for the second time. He feels odd with all her replies to his messages. It feels like it is not her that replied to him.

Her reply is short and sounds like it is lacking something. Then, he realizes what is missing. She never use emoji anymore and her reply sounds boring like she is not interested to text him.

Being the concerned boyfriend he is, he texts her to ask if he can call her because he will only do so once she says 'yes'. He does not call her often because he knows she might be busy and she's herself has said that she does not want to bother him for he has a hectic schedule in China.

As he reached the coffee shop with Taehyung, he sighs when Chaeyoung has not yet reply to his text. It just grows his worry on her so he tries to call her right away hoping that she will pick up. The time at the moment is 10.15 AM in South Korea so there is no way she would be busy, he guesses.

The noise comes from the phone bothers Chaeyoung as she gets out of the bathroom. When she sees the name on the screen, she freezes without doing anything until the ringtone stops. Only then, she takes her phone while wiping her face that she just washed earlier.

My Kookie 💙: Can I call you, Chaeyoung?

"That's why he called.", she says before leaving her phone on the bedside table again.

"You do know that it's unnecessary to punish him like this, right?", the Voice in her mind suddenly talks to her as she leaves the room to look for Jisoo.

"Shut up, Rosé.  You don't know how I felt when I saw that video.", she replies as she sees Jisoo in the kitchen preparing breakfast. "Hey, unnie. Good morning.", she greets Jisoo before helping her to put the pancakes in a plate.

Rosé chuckles in response to Chaeyoung's words. "I do know you feel disappointed with him and all. But, listen to me. I feel that he was set up or maybe it was a misunderstanding. You should talk to him about this matter maturely. Not acting like this with him.", she tells Chaeyoung how she understands her but she cannot let her dwell in her own feelings and negative thoughts on Jungkook.
