I was acting weird

It has been the sixth time for Chaeyoung to look at her watch with worried look on her face. She looks up to the couple in front of her who are still busy shopping around in the mall. She does not have the intention to go out with them today but she needs to fix her laptop, so here she is being a third wheel on a Sunday evening.

"Jisoo unnie..", she calls the elder lady who is trying a matching hat with Seokjin for the third time in five minutes.

"Chaeng, just a little bit. Then, we go home, okay?", Jisoo already knows what she will say so she says it first.

"Okay...but don't be too long. The cats are alone at home, unnie, oppa.", Chaeyoung reminds the couple before she excuses herself to wait outside of the clothing store.

On Friday, Jungkook left the cats at her house for the weekend after almost a week he took them with him. Chaeyoung requested him to bring the cats to her house so he did as she asked. Now, she feels guilty to the cats for leaving them alone at home.

When she is walking back and forth anxiously in front of the clothing store, a group of people in uniform walk toward her and one of them hits her shoulder. Because of that, Chaeyoung loses her balance and hits someone else with her back. She quickly turns around and bows down as she apologized before she realizes something.

"It's okay.", the voice of that person triggers her in some kind of way so she looks at him who is wearing all black from head to toe.

She follows him and takes over him before she recognizes who it is.

"Jungkook.", she says making him to pull his head up to look straight to her.

"Chaeyoung..", he replies as he fixes his black mask and pulls his hoodie covering his face. "What are you doing here?", he asks her.

Chaeyoung looks back at the clothing store and turns to Jungkook, "I came here to fix my laptop and I'm waiting for Jisoo unnie and Jin oppa there."

Jungkook looks at where she pointed and nods as he sees the couple in the clothing store.

"What are you doing here, Jungkook?", Chaeyoung asks him the same question. "Aren't you supposed to be at an event now?", she adds as she remembers that the charity event where she designed the poster is being held today at the building beside the mall.

"Ah...the event is boring. So, I left early.", he simply says as they stand by the railing of that 3rd floor looking down to the lower floors of the mall.

"The charity event is boring? Why?", she asks him.

He sighs before answering, "Because...you're not there." Chaeyoung frowns at him before he laughs looking at her reaction. "I'm kidding. I'm sorry. It's actually boring because they seem to just use me to make people come to make donation. So, I pretended to be sick but they refused to let me go. They were so fussy so I just had to do it. I ran away without informing anybody.", he explains.

"But, they pay you..", Jungkook shakes his head when Chaeyoung said that.

"I refused to be paid when I know it's a charity event. But, turned out they treat me this way. So, who do you think is wrong here?", he tells her about the event he thought was sincere to work along with him.

"They..."

"Chaeyoung! I thought I lost you, girl!", Jisoo's voice interrupts them as Jisoo goes to pull Chaeyoung's hand. "Now, who are you talking to, young lady?", she asks as she tries to see the man beside Chaeyoung.

The blonde haired Chaeyoung pulls Jisoo's hand before she whispers, "It's Jungkook."

Her eyes widened a bit just like Seokjin who almost says the footballer's name out loud. Luckily Jungkook sees him so he quickly covers the elder guy's mouth with his hand.

"Keep it down, hyung.", he tells before he slowly removes his hand away from Seokjin's mouth.

"I thought Chaeyoung said you have an event today.", Seokjin says as soft as possible enough for the four of them only to hear.

Jungkook smiles before he explains the same thing he did to Chaeyoung earlier to the couple. Then, Seokjin snaps his finger as if he just got an idea in his mind. His eyes lit up as he looks at Jisoo and then, to the two people in front of him.

"Actually I want to watch a movie with my girlfriend. Do you guys want to join us?", he asks them before Jisoo shakes her head not agreeing to the sudden plan.

"Oppa, I told you I want to go home. Louis and Lily are waiting for me.", Chaeyoung says as she looks at her watch briefly.

"Ummm...how about this? Me and Jisoo go to the movies. You and Jungkook go home to see the cats first. How about that?", Seokjin suggests.

Jisoo shakes her head to him. "Yah, we can watch the movie next time.", she says to Seokjin who is pouting since he has planned to watch a movie with Jisoo for quite a while. They have not watch any movie together for almost four months according to Seokjin's calendar. The last movie they watch together with Chaeyoung was on April and now it is almost the end of August.

Chaeyoung sees the sad look on Seokjin's face so she speaks up, "Unnie and oppa can go to the movies. Jungkook can drive me home, right?"

Jungkook looks a bit flustered but he nods along to her. Then, they both bid goodbye to Seokjin and Jisoo before they part ways. When the both of them almost reach the entrance of the mall, Jungkook stops as he faces Chaeyoung with guilt shown on his face.

"Chaeyoung...I don't have my car with me actually. I came to the event with my agent, he dropped me off there. But, don't worry. I'll get us a taxi. Is that okay with you?", he reveals the reason to his guilty face.

"Oh..okay. We'll share the bill then.", she replies making him a bit relieved to know she is alright with it.

The ride home in the taxi is quiet between them as the radio is the only thing that is making noise in front. Chaeyoung who is sitting beside him fell asleep just after five minutes of the ride while he tries to keep his eyes on the road. The taxi driver does not talk to them too so the surrounding is quiet calming actually.

"No!", Chaeyoung suddenly speaks in her sleep. "No..I don't want to go with you...", she continues making Jungkook worried of her.

Luckily her voice is low and the radio kind of helping to not make the taxi driver finds anything suspicious at the backseat. Slowly, Jungkook moves himself closer to Chaeyoung before he calls her name.

"No...", she seems to be having a bad dream.

"Hey, it's me, Jungkook. I'm here with you. Don't be scared.", he tries to comfort her as he slowly slips his hand behind her neck and pushes her head slowly to rest on his shoulder. Then, he gently pats her head in hope that it could help her to stop having her bad dream.

Both of them do not speak a word to each other until they get inside her house. Chaeyoung is embarrassed with him when she found out she slept in the taxi with her head resting on his shoulder. Jungkook, on the other hand, is thinking of what kind of dream Chaeyoung had just now.

"Chaeyoung.."

"Jungkook.."

Saying each other's name in unison. Both of them stop when they did it again like the first time they met as friends. They point to each other and chuckle at themselves.

"This time, you talk first, Jungkook.", Chaeyoung says.

Jungkook nods before he starts to speak, "Are you...alright?"

His question already makes Chaeyoung knows that she did something while she was sleeping.

"I was acting weird, did I?", she asks him back.

He quickly shakes his head, "You're not. You just...you seemed to have a bad dream. That's all."

Chaeyoung nods without saying anything as she walks to the cat house beside the sofa at the living room.

"Hey, there, Louis my baby.", she takes the kitten and starts rubbing its body in her arm.

Jungkook sits beside her looking at Louis' mom, Lily inside the cat house sleeping.

"Do you want to talk about it?", Jungkook dares himself to ask her that question.

Chaeyoung takes a while before responding, "No, it's fine. I'm okay now."

"You sure?", he remembers how her hand was trembling before he held it when she stopped talking in her sleep.

A nod is given before she looks at Louis jumps out of her arm and goes to Jungkook's lap.

"Hey, Louis..", he greets the kitten with a smile on his face.

"You'll take them today, do you? Since you're already here.", Chaeyoung asks him.

Jungkook takes the ball he bought for the cats and throws it for Louis to catch. "If you want them to stay here longer, I don't mind. I can come here anytime.", he throws the ball a bit further when Louis came back in few seconds bringing the ball to him.

"You can take them today. Jisoo unnie hasn't been out to the living room this weekend because of them.", Chaeyoung tells him before she excuses herself to her bedroom for a while.

After she closes her door, Jungkook looks at it with concern. "I hope you're really okay, Chaeyoung.", he says before he sees Lily comes out of the cat house.
