don't want to remember

After they had their shower and get ready to leave the training ground, Jungkook stops Jimin on his way to his car at the parking area. Jungkook has been wanting to talk with Jimin during training but the elder seemed to be very quiet that day. It made Jungkook wonders why he acted that way.

"What is it?", Jimin asks as he puts his FILA duffel bag into the trunk of his car.

"Yah, why you look so cold today, hyung?", Jungkook asks him as he leans at the back of the car. Jungkook does the same without feeling guilty as they have been best friends since kids. Jimin chuckles a bit before denying of being cold that day.

"If you're not, then why are you avoiding me? I see it, hyung.", Jungkook says with a pout.

Jimin shakes his head denying Jungkook again.

"Is this because you got an offer from Sydney?", Jungkook guesses making Jimin froze. "Tae hyung told me you didn't accept it.", Jungkook adds.

Jimin tsked as he heard Taehyung's name. "We really shouldn't let our best friend be our agent. He can't keep secrets.", he says as he kicks the air in vexation.

Jungkook laughs at it. "What secret? Sooner or later, the media will know your decision. They will make an article on it, hyung.", he says to the elder.

"Yeah but...it's not right if I accept the offer.", Jimin states.

"Come on, hyung. You should accept it. It's not easy to get a chance to play out of this country, you know?", Jungkook tries to talk to Jimin to think of his decision again.

Jimin gives a serious look at Jungkook as he crosses his arms beside him. "Don't you remember our promise to stick to each other, Jungkook-ah?", he asks.

Jungkook laughs and nods to it. "We just did that because you were trying to comfort me, hyung. I'm a big guy now, I can live by myself.", Jungkook says as he lifts an eyebrow at Jimin.

"But, I got an offer from the country where your mom probably living now. It doesn't feel right for me to go there. Especially when I know you wait for an offer from there too.", Jimin reasons out why he decided not to accept the offer from Sydney FC.

Jungkook stays quiet before he smiles a bit as Jimin looks at him for a respond. "My time will come later. You should accept the offer, hyung. Even if you don't, please don't make me be the reason you don't go.", Jungkook says before he looks at his watch. "Okay, hyung. I need to go. I'll see you at the match tomorrow.", he ends their conversation before he heads for his car at the other end of the parking area.

Chaeyoung taps on the 'play' icon after she has done buying things at the convenience store. As she gets out of the store, her steps is stopped when she bumps into someone's shoulder a bit. But, she remains looking down at her phone not realizing who is standing in front of her.

The song playing through the earbuds make Chaeyoung does not care of the distraction in front of her. She looks through her playlist to change the song before a hand waving in front of her phone blocking her view. As she looks up, she is about to scold the person but her mouth stays shut as she sees the person in front of her.

"Hi, Chaeyoung.", she sees him mouthing that to her.

She takes a step aside from him and tries to ignore him as she starts walking back home.

The feeling of being ignored by Chaeyoung disturbs his mind that night. He wonders why she acted like that with him. He tried to call her and even stayed beside her until she got home but she did not interact with him at all.

It makes him wonder if she hated him or she was just shy with him. If she hated him, she would not let him accompany her to walk home. If she is shy, she would already tell him to leave her alone. Those thoughts make Jungkook have a hard time to sleep even though he already went to bed as early as 10 PM.

Because of the thoughts, he goes out for a night walk and purposely stops in front of Chaeyoung's house. He looks at the house at the end of the road. The house looks big even though he can only see the gate. The big space of it must be boring to Chaeyoung, he thinks.

"What are you doing here?", a voice startles him as he turns around and takes a few steps back until his back hits the hard gate behind him.

"Oww!", he yells in pain as he rubs his hurt back.

Chaeyoung steps forward to him as she sees him hitting her house's gate.

"Uh, are you okay?", she asks him as she tries not to touch him even though she gets worried of his back.

"I'm okay, I'm okay.", Jungkook says as he straightens himself and looks at her from head to toe.

"Why are you looking at me like that?", she asks as she glares at him.

He shakes his head and apologizes. "I thought there's a ghost behind me.", he says sarcastically making Chaeyoung's eye squints at him.

"I thought you're a ghost in front of me.", she responds angrily.

"You're very brave to surprise a ghost like me, then.", he replies with a small giggle.

Chaeyoung stares at him as she asks him to move away from the gate. However, Jungkook does not listen to her as he shakes his head refusing to move. When she repeats to him to move, he smiles as he pulls down his mask.

"Oh, come on!", Chaeyoung says as she glances at her smart watch.

"I'll move only after you answer my questions.", he says as he puts up two fingers meaning he has two questions for her.

Chaeyoung scoffs before asking what he wanted to know from her.

"What are you doing out here at night like this?", he asks his first question.

"Just taking a night walk since the weather is nice.", she answers truthfully. Jungkooknodds to it before she asks him what his second question is.

"I'm Jeon Jungkook. You know me, right?", he asks her.

Chaeyoung is not able to answer right away like she did before. She slowly nods after a while and says, "You're Seoul FC striker."

Then, she tells him to move but he stays still. "I already answered your questions. Please move now, Mr Jeon.", she says to him as she tries to push him away from leaning on the gate.

"You remember me, right? From the night you fainted?", he asks but Chaeyoung shakes her head. "From the store, we wanted the same bread...", he asks more but Chaeyoung keeps shaking her head at him.

"Can you not remind me of things I don't want to remember?", she utters in a sad tone.

Jungkook stops and he moves away a bit seeing her getting into the gate with teary eyes.

"Don't you remember what you called me the last time we met?", he asks making Chaeyoung stops her movement.

They stare into each other's eyes in silence. Moments later, a car stops behind Jungkook and Chaeyoung's eyes widen upon seeing the person coming out from the car. She quickly runs to the door leaving Jungkook alone in front of the gate.

"What? You again?", Jisoo says as she sees him. She looks to the door and back at him before asking what he is doing there.

"I'm sorry. I just...met Chaeyoung. She was out alone just now.", Jungkook says before he excuses himself.

Then, he walks back to his house leaving her housing area. Jisoo and Seokjin look at each other quietly before Jisoo shakes her head and waves goodbye to Seokjin. She needs to know what happened between Chaeyoung and Jungkook.
