Casey
Do you know how you're always looking for something, but never find it because your dad cleans your room? Yeah, that's me when Gavin threatens to clean my room and hides my stuff. In his words, "I warned you."
I searched for my keys as my phone rang. I pulled out my phone to see Brandon FaceTiming me. What does he want? I answered the phone.
"What?" I asked.
"Someone's moody," Brandon mentioned.
"Yeah, well, Gavin hid my car keys," I mumbled.
"Because you didn't bother to clean your room. Your fault," Brandon replied.
"Yeah, yeah, I never listen, and everything's my fault," I huffed.
"How's it going with the situation with Coop?" Brandon asked.
"We're making progress," I answered.
Brandon gave me a look.
"Okay, we're not making progress, but we will enlist help," I reasoned.
"Who?" Brandon asked.
"Larissa," I answered.
"Isn't she the crazy chick from last year?" Brandon questioned.
"Yeah, but she's not annoying like the rest of the girls we go to school with," I reasoned.
"Does someone like said crazy chick?" Brandon asked.
"Oh, look, poor signal. Bye," I answered, hanging up before Brandon said another word. I didn't need psychoanalysis of my aversions to relationships.
Take Andi, for example. She like Cody, who didn't like her, but had Brandon pining over her. You throw Coop into the mix, denying his feelings for Cody, and you got mega problems. Plus, it's not like anyone caught my eye or made me want to date them. The only girl who I might date is Larissa, but we're friends.
I didn't need Brandon to mention ideas about something inaccurate. What I need are my damn car keys. Ah, there they are, on my desk where I put them. I need a better system for my car keys.
I grabbed them and left telling Gavin and Ty where I was going. The door closed, and Gavin looked at Ty.
"Did you understand any of that?" Gavin asked.
"Something about Coop and doing something," Ty answered.
I drove to the batting cages and pulled into a spot, then got out of the car. I walked over to see Coop in one, hitting baseballs.
"If you like hitting balls so much, why don't you go out for the baseball team?" I asked.
"Because I found it relaxes me to slam a bat into something other than someone's head," Coop said, swinging and hitting a ball.
"Did anyone tell you that you have anger issues?" I asked.
"I'm half Bennett, half Harrison," Coop said, hitting another ball.
"That's a lot of anger," I mentioned.
Coop hit his last ball and left the batting cage. He pulled off his helmet, putting it and the bat back. We left the batting cages and went to grab a burger. We walked into Brandon's grandpa's place and sat down.
"Hey! Look what the cat dragged in!" Martin greeted us. He handed us menus. "Tell Mack he owes me a fishing trip," Martin told Coop.
"I didn't think you liked fishing," I mentioned.
